I'm sure it has been asked many times, but I cannot find anything on it. I received email from our shuttle service sending us a link to VISITAX to pay a visitor's tax. Does anyone know if this is something extra, we have to pay?
Yes, you technically are required to pay it. If paying in advance, be sure to use the official government site as others oftentimes charge a markup/service fee (VISITAX) As to enforcement, it hasn't been well enforced so far. They usually have someone at the airport who asked to see your receipt, but many travelers bypass them.
is the person asking if you have a receipt located in the area after you get out of the luggage area with all the cab companies yelling at you before you actually get outside? We walk through that area looking straight ahead and make no eye contact with anyone.
Do you have a source for that? Because everything I have seen says Visitax is separate and they definitely have asked for a receipt/qr code.
