So we have 73 days until our group of 14 arrives. We are used to all partying together at our local club and the DJ there is awesome. I know how the music is at Bash

Has there been any improvements with the DJ taking requests? Does anyone know if we may luck out and have a guest DJ or something along those lines that will not play the same crap every night? (June 16-21)

I have a feeling we may take our group back to the penthouse and have our own party with a JBL speaker lol

I know many of you say the bad music doesn't affect you, but it does affect us. We all love to dance and the same techno crap no one has ever heard of before is such a buzz kill.

At some point no matter who the house DJ is it seems like they will intentionally play crap to get people to stop dancing! Most DJs are good at picking up the vibe…play this and people dance, play that and they don’t. For some reason the TTR house DJs do the opposite! The guest DJs are definitely better but those are only on special occasions.
If you have a group of 14 then you have a party wherever you are. You could take over the Sportsbar and have them play what you like or you could hold a PH/Master Suite party like you said (balcony will hold a lot of people for dancing). But you either need to book those suites or meet someone in them, sounds like you have one so problem solved!!!

I agree completely! It's as if the DJ's literally do not want anyone to have fun. They will tease us and throw in a song that is current and popular, everyone dances and then it is right back to the crap. This has been such a long lasting complaint that has been brought up time and time again. I do not understand why the hotel has not done anything to fix it. I know that appeasing a large crowd can be difficult, but I think we all agree we do not like the crap they play day in and day out.

So our friends do have the penthouse, so that is def an option. It is just nice to be at Bash in the open with the bar right there. But I guess we will have to work with what we have.

I have heard of people saying there was a guest DJ when they were there and they were much better. I wonder if there is any way of finding out when guest DJ's are scheduled..?

DJs are on the Temptation website. Special events lists some dates but they also do them ad hoc (we had one I think at both all night “Sunset to Sunrise” party crawl events we went to last two May trips).

There is so little you can do to get this to change. Like said we normally fill our post pool party time, and pre and post bash party time with our own music from a speaker. After about 2 hours at bash, I have typically had enough. During the day I tend to notice it a lot less. After about trip #15, I just gave up caring and kind of formed a mental block where it doesn't get to me anymore.

I have sort of gotten to that point too.. However, most of the group coming with us have not been before. I coordinated the trip so I want everyone to have fun! I notice the music much less during the day as well. I will let everyone decide if they can tolerate Bash for more than an hour and if not, they can join us in the penthouse.

The music is really difficult for the TTR team. You've got people who want "club" music or EDM, others who don't mind it and like to dance, and then you've got the people who want rock and roll and literally NEVER dance, and they are usually the ones complaining the most about music but to little to maintain the party atmosphere because they don't dance.

Difficult to please everyone. We prefer to just have a few drinks and stay engaged meeting new people and having fun, music be damned!

I agree. It is difficult to please everyone. But I also think everyone would appreciate if the DJ played songs that the general population has heard of before and songs that have words and aren't just techno. I think most people get more in the mood to dance to songs they are familiar with. Like play the top 100 list or something. sheesh

Yup no one can agree on the same music. I can deal with the techno, it's a known factor at TTR. Have fun, drink, and enjoy the scene. Would never play techno myself, but it is bearable. Just don't play top 100.:)

Maybe I am too simple: if you play something and everyone leaves the dance floor or no one gets on, then trash that song or genre. Every week will be different with the crowd but the one truth is “are there people dancing or not”?
If not, don’t play something exactly the same as the last thing!
