First Timers Here, Forum has been incredibly helpful, thank you everyone. We plan on going this fall, around November. That being said, how far in advance do you guys usually book your trip for best rates and availability etc? Thank you!
We are anywhere from 1 week to 9 months. Depends on if friends are going or we want a certain room type and know that week fills up. Lots of good threads on here as to personal preference of where and how to book. Like anywhere though, everything is negotiable.
We usually book as far out as possible… but close enough we can make the work and personal arrangements needed. That’s about 3 months. I don’t think there is a set best time to book. There are discount codes available for the further out you book.
If you are booking a very popular time like Halloween or New Years then you need to book very far out. Otherwise you can try and wait for the best deals.
As @MikeandHeather mentioned on another post, you can book as early as you want. If the rate goes down, the resort will reduce the charge. (I've never tried this myself, but it sounds like a great idea)
We usually book a year in advance. The pricing does not really make a difference for us because we are Members so it is a set rate. We book so far in advance to make sure we get the room we want. We go the same time every year (June) and there is a big group that come so the rooms fill up fast. Plus, they only require 1 nights deposit to book, so it doesn't hurt to do it far out.
We have already booked for November. Now we check for deals every few weeks. If we find a discount, we call and ask for it. They won't volunteer that information, but if you find it they will give it to you.
