Hello everyone. I'm sure the answer to our question is in one of the 1000 posts on here so I apologize if it is... We were wondering if any experienced TTR's can inform us if we need to make reservations ahead of going? We arrive on the 18th for a week. Read somewhere that it is hard to get into the better restaurants...If we do need to make reservations how do we go about doing that? 11 days and counting....we can't wait. Tim and Jen
You only need reservations at two of the restaraunts - "She" and the hibatchi section at Sutra (the Asian restaurant). If you want to order from the extensive menu at Sutra, you do not need a reservation.
are long pants and/or collared shirts required at any of the restaurants? what kind of beer is served at bars and at pools? Any Budweiser available at the resort?
I have been twice since the renovations and this was definitely the case. But, now I see on the hotel's website that reservations are required for Flame. Has that always been there and I just never noticed and no one really abides by it? Or is this a new requirement?
As far as I know, this is new. Not sure when it started, but it was not the case in June 2018 (my most recent trip)and I have not seen any other post before yours about the change. Interestingly, there is no mention of the hibatchi (or the need to make reservations for it) in the description of Sutra on the website. I am not sure if that is a change or not. Also, collared shirts and long pants are required at She, Romanza, Sea Flirt and Sutra. Shoes and shirts with sleeves required at the remaining restaurants.
If I were you, I`d book in advance. If you want to spend time in a restaurant, choose a good place. It may be less frequent, but you'll have more fun.
For example, I booked a table for the family at this restaurant in advance and we were very pleased with the menu and the atmosphere. The absence or small number of customers in a restaurant is a very telling sign - exorbitantly high prices, unpalatable cuisine, lack of comfort in the establishment. But most importantly, in such a restaurant, they`ll try to sell you dishes made of stale products. And meat and fish products can be kept frozen as long as you like.
