We have done that in Cancun. We fly standby and sometimes we can't get to Cancun until late in the afternoon so we just stay in a hotel for the night and show up to Temptation the next morning rested and ready to party. Get a lot more bang for your buck.
Nope, and not interested in visiting the DR. Trying to figure out why I'd trade the travel day we've got from Houston to Cancun, for the one from Houston to the DR for pretty much what, at best, will be an equal experience? That's right, isn't it? We can see why East Coast folks like the idea, single flight, shorter travel time (except for the shuttle ride to the hotel), but for us... Turn something that's basically 3 hours into an all day deal.
I like the idea of having both the desires and TTR experience on the same property, depending on what you are in the mood for. Guests at the Grand Miches side can go to the Temptations side, but not the other way around.
I have never been to the DR, and coming from Philly, and don't know if it's more or less travel time. I would try something different, but I can't see it happening on repeat. I would think there would be less Canadian people in the DR, and I enjoy their company on vacation.
poeple will def try something new, as for canadians, DR is normally a little cheaper then mexico for "all in packages" coming from Toronto, and specially Cancun cuba is super cheap then its DR, mexico with a little mix of Jamaica, but you may find more canadians in the DR, some DR resorts are allowed mini casinos built in, and also our news media rarely speaks of DR but if there is a shooting in mexico near/ around resorts we always seem to broadcast that. we were on the beach at TTR when that shooting a few resorts down happen with the jet skis and i think by next morning i had what seemed like a million msg on my phone., it really may come down to staff and playmakers if any one has tried both resorts. as for flights philly would be similar to toronto and cancun and punta cana are basically similar second trip to TTR coming in sept but we are also in DR first week of oct just not the new TTR
