We are looking to stay at one of the Excellance resorts in Mexico. We are going to split our time between Temptations and one of the Excellance resorts. Anyone have any input on which resort is better - food, drink, party, scenery, etc.
Which resort would be best for meeting other couples and possibly taking things back to the room.

    Thanks
    Dave and Dawn

Both excellence resorts are exceedingly nice. We prefer Riviera Cancun, just because it's the first all-inclusive we have ever visited in Mexico. But Playa Mujares has individual roof top pools that you can do whatever you want at. Most people think PM is a little nicer. The pools are private to some premium rooms. That said, we haven't been to an Excellence since we discovered TTR. Excellence are the prefect vanilla honeymoon location. Neither will offer a decent chance of finding anther couple for nefarious acts, but who knows it may happen.
Both have small dance clubs that shut down around 1 am, but they are usually empty before that. ERC is a short walk for Desire Pearl. Beaches are very nice at each.

We used to love Excellence RC before we started going to TTR. It seems so boring now lol. You can go wrong with the service or the food there. Still one of the top resorts in Cancun. Roof top terrace rooms are the best rooms I ever had.

Thanks for the feedback. I would love to do temptations but she is nervous. Whats the crowd like at RC. We are in our late 40's. Is it easy to meet others and drink and let loose. Someone was also telling me that people have parties in the rooftop terrace.

Excellence is as vanilla as it gets. RTT rooms are great and good to have fun after a day of drinking. You are certainly not letting loose at Excellence lol. They make faces if a woman is wearing a thong. Overall it’s our favorite resort for service and food. We are early 40s and went to Temptation for the first time last august. We went again in jan and became members. We are taking a quick weekend trip end of March for my wife’s 40th. Already have a spilt week in august booked for TTR and Desire. We were the same way about TTR. It really is a great time. No pressure. Everyone is super friendly. Maybe 20% in the LS. 30% there to have a great time and explore. 50% just like the party and topless option. I would at just go to TTR. We were super skeptical about the whole thing but loved it. Kinda ruined the boring hotels like Excellence.

Excellence Playa Mujeres is the best of that collection. We did a few nights at a hostel and night clubs then finished at Excellence. Best of both worlds. This year, we're full sending at TTR. Excellence was very relaxing, unreal beach/pool/drinks/food...but got boring very quickly for us.
