You probably could snorkel on the BC but fish ain't want you're going to see! There are snorkeling excursions close by, like the museum at Isla or to the reef at the South end of the hotel zone that won't cost too much, although not like Cozumel or Belize. But still very nice if you want to get out of the party and hang in the water for a day.
