There's nothing wrong with camera use. The problem can be what people are taking photos of. TTR isn't a lifestyle resort, I am surprised they told you that - must have been someone new. They specifically don't market themselves as Lifestyle, and in order for me to be an affiliate (i.e. sell rooms on their behalf) I have to sign a contract saying I will not promote them as such.
You do realise there are hundreds of high definition security cameras all over the resort for security purposes that are not 'advertised'? Should the hotel not use those too? I realise that those cameras are not streamed live, but what's to stop someone who sits there all day reviewing the footage from videoing the feed with their phone and sending it to their friends who could do whatever with it. Folks will know the Boobs Cruise got shut down for two weeks a couple of months ago. The reason why was a Police Launch cruised past our boat, one of the cops filmed us and sent the video to his friends on Whatsapp, the video then surfaced on Social Media and was brought to the attention of the Governor. I guess if anyone really wants to look at videos of topless women, there are probably better websites to do so where the images are not 10 x 4 pixels. Personally I prefer my porn a little harder and clear.
It's not. Marketing is creating a brand with an identity that meets customers needs and builds reputation. Advertising is paying to reach those people that may identify with the brand.
While we're at it, let's complain to management that the social media crew shouldn't be allowed to take pictures of the Playmakers down at the sexy pool because some guests may then think it's ok for them to take pictures...It's as silly as blaming a rape victim for their assaults because they were wearing provocative attire.
I still say, if it's privacy you want, then this resort or any other like is not for you. Go inside, close the curtains, or vacation elsewhere.
Those security cameras aren’t streamed live to the internet. They don’t market with them or advertise there existence.
You're missing the damn point!!! He was trying to tell you that THOSE security cameras are super high def and if any of the security guys watching the footage wanted, at anytime they can whip out their cell phones and record something from the screen on their phone and share it to the world, whereas this webcam does NOT for the millionth time infringe on anyone's privacy regardless of who is watching it or where it's streaming! All it is literally doing is showing a view of the sexy pool and that's it!!!
I did notice the camera policy note on the website a while back, it has changed from a few years ago. A few years ago it was 'no photos', now it appears selfies are ok. When the resort opened back up in 2018 we were clocked a few times for attempting to take selfies down at the pool (nobody in the background) and told to stop by security. I'm guessing that level of policing has eased?
One thing the camera seems to be showing, is there doesn’t seem to be a lot of people there this time of year. It’s 2:00, and there are 20 people in the pool.
