We were there recently and ther 2 bachelorette parties, a couple of bachelor parties and enough single guys that my wife didn’t bather going on the stage some nights. I asked her why and she told she didn’t want to deal with all the single guys. A couple of nights the railing at Bash was lined up with so many late 20 early 30 single guys leering that it reminded me of the old SNL Roxbury guys skit. Also this is the first time I have seen fights as well as people passed out and stumbling around drunk. I watched one guy pass out and literally fall on his face. I looked at their web page and can find couples resort list any longer. We are going to give it one more shot in the spring but it seems TTR has changed it business model.
We’ve noticed since prices dropped due to COVID there have been more singles and guys. Although, prices have gone back up and significantly over the last month or two so hopefully in the coming months these things will change. We’ve been 10x in the last 18 months and I’ve felt the way your wife has as well but luckily not all trips maybe 3/10. Hang in there, it’ll get better ☺️
Way to make single guys coming with expectations that don't materialize. They become creepers and security just lets it go even after reporting problems. It was an issue the last two times we were there. Hopefully it will be improved in December when we return.
I understand it never was a couples only resort but certainly the recent branding and marketing effort is actively pursuing singles and those looking to be seen on social media living the high life. Very different approach to the past customer base and even the cheesy, but awesome, red wall paint and resort romance theme has shifted to new color patterns. We keep returning but our TTR days are less per trip now than the past. We split our trips and end at Desire which has many of the characteristics we liked at the old TTR.
TTR has never been couples only it has always welcomed singles but they use to ask the groups of singles not be to big ..people got around that by booking smaller groups and still going together
We are really debating if we want to go back there too many douchbags people that cant/shouldnt drink cameras everwhere and now live feed at the pool really takes away from the free spirit the place had,,, Ps there are many good singles there that we like just bad apples are getting a bit much… (.Y.)
"Live feed of the pool" is a webcam on the top of the Tower. Everyone is about 4 pixels big, no one can be identified.
It still can be a couples resort if you plan your trip and book with several other couples. A bunch of "wall watcher" single guys don't bother me at night. Basically just standing around like noodles that don't have a chance/clue. I feel those types don't get on the stage anyway. I just wish they brought more single girls. And Bachelorette parties don't count IMO, as those are often very hard to penetrate, unless it's the first married girl of the group. I find the solo guys are mostly a problem during that 4-630 time-frame at the pool (and then the walk back to the rooms), as many are frustrated after striking out all day.
