Long A$$ Trip Report With Observations (sept 8th-15th)

You guys definitely will! Just remember, keep talking/meeting as many people as you can. There are still sooooo many friendly people who visit and THEY make it what it is.

 

Appreciate the time you've put into this. Fwiw we're long time fans of Desire and have made a ton of lifelong friends from there.

I do think Temptation will "get back to normal" once the world gets back to normal. Yes, price may have attracted some of the discount Instagram influencers, but I expect the real hold-out is probably people still hesitant to travel. They'll come back. They always do

 

Excellent trip report - thank you so much for posting. This one part that I quoted, is SPOT ON. Temptation is a resort full of strangers, but in the past, everyone was friendly and welcoming and it felt like you "knew" everyone, even the people who just arrived. You could raise your drink to anyone in the pool, or poolside or at the beach, say "cheers" and almost always get a friendly "cheers" in return with a smile. Same when passing guests in the hallways and you say "good morning" or "good evening" In the past, you'd always get a courteous reply.

Nowadays, blank stares, moody looks or they avoid eye contact like you're some kind of salesman. I don't get it. You're here on vacation to have fun. I'm here on vacation to have fun. Let's share a smile and 2 seconds of civility.

I really miss the old TTR but *sigh* I know that ship has sailed.

Again, great report. It reminded me so much of the things I love about the resort, along with the newer directions it's taking.

 

LOVE the "discount Instagram influencers" (everybody is one now) blurb. That's how it felt. Our phones were locked in the safe the entire trip for us and I dumped all social media 5+ years ago. Mental health game changer and no need to keep up the fake highlight reel of my life. I lived it....that's all I need.

 

That's the best way to go. I keep mine by the pool because of work (IT is a cruel mistress), and feel some shame pulling it out periodically. Very jealous of the people who don't bring a phone, a little confused by the people who choose to

 

I always try to say good morning or good evening, with a smile, to people when I pass them when I'm there. I will be back again in November and will make a point of doing it to everyone. Even the ones walking and staring into their phones not paying attention to where they are going.

 

Terrific review, thanks. We're meeting a load of people we know from the past (oct 8-15) so we're hoping, in fact we're sure, we'll have a great time. Three cancelled trips since the madness began, we're ready. Thanks again .

 

we were there from the 2nd till the 11h .. we were the madness at the bar in the pool the group that had the oh wow hats and the labor day crew hats .
we did manage to wrangle a few younger and firstimers into our madness and they are on my facebook now lol and say they are going back
a few others in the group did the same .. we will grow the cult hehehe
one thing about bash is for some reason people don't check out the resort before booking so they don't come prepared for dressing in costume I offered stickers for nipples when ever I could lol
the cabanas are dumb but good for people watching ,I know they were handing them out to members for going in for meetings and things like that but they gave out the ones to them on the far side of the pool not the front side.
Over all we had a great time , playmakers were friendly and added to our crazy , the bartenders tried to kill us like we love by always keeping our drinks full and the shots every 30 mins lol
a bunch of our group has already booked for labor day next year

 

Awesome review. We agree that the new crowd seems to be all about the selfie social media game. Im sure in time those people will be gone and will not be back. Wife and I feel the same way. We will be back and still the best resort in Cancun.

 

Get connected to the No Bra Club or the Shit Show and you will have a blast. We will be late to the party, as we arrive on the 17th-20th.
