I can understand but when your passports are stolen in a foreign country, it’s a big deal. And see my other comment about this probably costing us $12-15k
I get that, and what happened to you would be terrible for anyone. I was more thinking about the piling on that happens with each negative thread. Hope you get your reimbursements.
I confirm I have met Paul, he was on Friday's cruise. He messaged me privately the day after the theft happened asking for a GM contact which I gave him. We also communicated prior to his trip. I have no reason to believe what he is saying isn't true.
I think it would be very difficult for an employee to have done this though. Most of you probably haven't seen the staff entrance/exit. It is a very narrow passage way where they sign in and out, only one person can pass through at a time. Backpacks are searched in and out. From the volume of things that were stolen it wouldn't be possible to hide them through the very rigorous exit procedure.
Our very good friends had items stolen from them as well a couple of weeks ago. They were able to track the cell phone to a room and security recovered the phone Then another couple we are friends with and just did an event with them at a deal with Chinos in the states had her phone stolen at the resort last month… Things are getting out of hand
Why would the resort be so reluctant to show the video footage to the victim? And someone from management saying his wife had a dress on when she didn't? Why are they lying/covering up?
First and foremost I am so very sorry to those that have been violated by theft. That is horrible, especially on vacation. Wonder if the resort will do anything to step up security / vigilance around the resort. I always lock my stuff up. But I know I always have felt safe there. With my person and items. I know I left my beach bag on the chair all day. Or by some chair. Now I'm looking at those lock bags for beach/ travel. I mean that's not a horrible thing, just strange. Only one time I felt a lil unsafe walking to my room alone, and I'm talking multiple trips over the years. And I quickly ran back to my group of friends. I know there will always be bad people in the world. I guess the answer, for now, is more vigilance. Would be nice if the hotel stepped up too.
my guess is it was an inside job. They know it but it’s a major black mark for the resort. Much easier to say it was another guest.
