We just got back yesterday. We stayed in a Trendy Garden view room in building 12 and I couldn't find an ice machine anywhere. I went to the front desk and they told me for the Trendy Garden rooms you have to go to a bar or the second floor of the Tower. It wasn't very convenient.
We have been five times and never had an issue with the ice\water from the bar or restaurants. We don't trust the sink water in the room we use bottled water to brush our teeth.
The ice and water are made right there on the property. I have never had a problem in all of the years that I have been going there. As for ice machines, there are several floors in the tower section that have ice machines. They are near the elevators, turn right when getting off of elevators. I forget what floors.
The water used in the ice machines is the same water that comes out of the tap in your room. If the ice is safe it comes to reason the water coming out of the faucet is too.
Well on the second floor of the tower where the ice machine is they have a filtration system going to the ice machine to filter that same water that goes to the room tap. I haven't noticed any filtration systems in the rooms.
