No Al. They stopped that. Now they randomly select people to go through their bags by asking them questions about cigarettes and booze and judging your response. Last October though we were in the last group to get our bags and the lead agent said just take everyone. Jamie
what do you mean red and green lights? is this for entry to mexico or leaving? never heard of that, lol. thanks
After landing in Cancun....First is customs, Second is picking up your checked bags, 3rd is exiting the baggage area of the airport. At that point (getting ready to exit baggage area) there will be several inspections lines. In the past everyone getting ready to exit the airport would push a button and either a green or a red light would appear on a monitor above the button. The reds much less frequently than green. If a person got a red light then they were pulled aside and had their baggage searched. Green lights were allowed to exit into the hall (gauntlet?) of timeshares/vacations/sales to exit the airport. I have never received a red light but have seen it and the searches are not that invasive, pretty quick to keep people moving. If a person looks suspicions/wearing a 420 logo/drawing attention to themselves/object in any way/etc they might get a much more thorough search. I have seen a few narcotic officers/dogs hanging/passing through that area while waiting for luggage.. Sounds like greenlight/red light is done now.
And don't have homemade beef jerky either. I had a bunch for the week to snack on and the dog chased me and I got pulled over. I saw the dog coming and kept walking hoping I would beat them without running. No suck luck. LOL
Damn...we always made bets on the light....if you got red you were getting searched but the bet “payoff” was way worse!!!
