Thanks Steve. This is really helpful. I figured they would get everything worked out and make it as easy as possible. Sounds like it's a non-issue. BTW, we really appreciate this forum. We spent a lot of time on it before our first trip. Reading everyone's comments was really helpful. We're still newbies but we had such a great time on our first trip we can't wait to go back!

We left today (Monday). Our test was done Saturday and we had negative results in our email within 10 minutes. Everyone we talked to said they also had their results within 10-15 minutes. Our negative test emails were checked by the American Airlines agent while checking in. They also wanted a signed copy of a form attesting that we had negative tests. It’s a simple sign and date form. There is also a passenger locator form that is checked prior to security. It asks for your seat number, if you have symptoms etc. All painless and straight forward.

Was it required to test so early? Or was it your choice to test Saturday and not Sunday or Monday the day you leave.

I wouldn't call it a non-issue. It sounds like it could be a pretty big issue. It sounds easy enough, albeit more intrusive, if you test negative, but what I really want to know is what happens if you test positive.

That is why I asked. If you test positive you will be required to stay in your room or leave the resort. I wonder if one could test the day before they leave or even the morning they leave.

If you test positive at TTR your options are to:
1)move into one of TTR's designated covid rooms for 14 days at $75/day. Enjoy unlimited porn and room service. Stay Hydrated.
2)go to another hotel for 14 days (at whatever rate you can find)/sleep on the beach/ in a rental car, etc.
3)drive/take a bus bus home (make it home sooner that 14 days I hope, but I'd rather just stay and have porn)
4)take another test (off-site) and hope for negative results ($)
5)find some fake negative result document and catch your flight

I would probably only do options#1 or #4.

The real question is: Do you have to get tested again at the end of 14 days or just provide proof of a positive test followed by 14 days of quarantine?

We were given our testing appt at checkin. We asked to change to Sunday but they said it wasn’t possible because the schedule was full. However, when we checked in to test we were asked if we had appt or were walk in. Anyway...we didn’t feel like pushing trying to change the appt and were glad to have it out of the way.

Following up...immigration at DFW was normal. Global Entry was open. No temperature checks. No suggestions to quarantine. No request to show proof of negative test. The locator forms we filled out prior to Cancun security were never collected by anyone. Security staff in Cancun looked at them but that was it.

Ok, folks...so has there been ANY positive test results at TTR, Desire Pearl, or Desire RM???

Just wondering what the positive test and 14 day quarantine accommodations really are.
    And where these special rooms?
Also, is it Scouts honor to stay put, are you given a scarlet letter, or are you under armed guard?

Wondering same thing. Mexico seems to be the safest place to be right now , nobody getting covid there this year that we’ve heard of. Is there something we should know so that we can book with confidence for a return home ?
