    No. We’re not planning on going with no test. Just trying to see how much extra time we may need at the airport. We are Americans but it seems like the airport staff already have a system to enforce existing Canadian negative test requirements.

    Sort of, yes. Not necessarily enforced the same though. By what I was reading it’s the airlines that are responsible to verify and it being possible for a health official to verify once in the US. Odds are they don’t have those people in place and they aren’t making customs verify.

    Already met some Canadians on last Friday's cruise who had bought fake certificates for their return flight. Apparently they are easy to get.

    Wonder how to make the counterfeit work? Our talks with the resort have made it clear that you schedule your test at check in. If you fail that one, they lock you away somewhere for 14 days for the bargain price of 75 a night. If you don't pass, how can you leave for the airport?

    We’ll clearly know a lot more in the next week or two. I hope we don’t ruin this alternative with to much chatter on here... it could be the deciding factor for us on our mid March trip. Just sayin

    That doesn't make sense at all. They can't make you schedule a test. Some people don't need one for a start, others might have their own arrangements. If you do need a test to go home it's not the hotel's obligation to enforce you get one. It's just an optional service.

    I know that if you test positive while there, you'll be asked to quarantine but that's nothing new and been happening for months. There's also the option of leaving the hotel and finding somewhere else. It's not a prison.

    I have emailed the hotel direct to make sure they will allow us to leave if we have a third party “negative”. Call me pessimistic but I don’t like feeling like I am a hostage (potentially) without options.
