Hi @Steve - do you know how far their Cancun lab is from Temptation? Is it a place we can get to by hopping on a bus? Also, for anyone interested, the PCR test that is suitable for traveling is $2,695MX for foreigners, which equals $134USD (each, I presume)
Hi Steve, so for 2 people, do you know how much it would be? I wonder if hotel roommates count or if the buy one get one free is only for married or living together? Hopefully they won't raise the rates/require appts because I'm sure with the new requirements it will get busier... (And of course some of this is as of yet unknown...) Steve, as someone I've known and read your posts for years you really are the only source I trust I because I know how honest you are about everything, even when it is not in your (short-term) best interest. And as someone planning to go next month, where will be the best site/thread place to get YOUR updates on this please? Thanks honey!
Sam here. What scares me about this is the well documented fact that false positives from the tests are very high. (as much as 50%) I don't cherish the thought of being stranded in Cancun with no place to stay because of a positive test. If you get a positive, then what?
Just so people understand, when the test is performed, there is a control and it’s setup without the sample. If the control returns positive, it’s a false positive and you test again. At least for me, I haven’t seen cases where the control returned negative and the sample was positive without a covid infection. False positive isn’t anything to worry about unless the results are delayed
I guess I had two not so related thoughts in that post. My real concern is exactly what the hell do you do if you do get a positive, whether actual or false. Staying at the resort, getting on a plane or going to any other resort I would think are not options.
