We just got back after an awesome week with the June Junkies! The airport was by far the easiest it's ever been. Customs took literally 5 minutes to get through on the way into Mexico. The transfer with USA Transfers was super easy and fast as usual. They took our temps and sprayed our bags and we were on our way. At TTR they sprayed our bags, we washed our hands, they took temps, and we stepped in some cleaning solution....and off we went! Again no big deal! Check in was easy. Our room wasn't ready which was weird but we changed and went straight to the pool. The drinks were cold and easy to get. We arrived on the 13th but the pool was pretty busy considering the resort was only at 30% capacity or so. Honestly it was kinda nice. Way easier to get drinks and the party was the same even with less people! Dinner was a little different because not every restaurant was open every night. That's fine by us because we like all of the restaurants. The buffet is open but they serve you the food and then hand you your plate. Not sure if it is open for dinner but breakfast and lunch it is for sure. Skybar is open and the food is awesome as usual! Definitely our favorite for lunch! Our first night was the glow party and they made it a foam glow party down at the pool! It was awesome! We really hope this becomes the norm! Overall it was another great trip with the group! Lower capacity didn't really affect anything for us. We're going back in September and can't wait!
So, so glad to hear J.J. is organising the playmakers and hosting a lot of the pool activities........ he's a great guy, top man and retains the link to pre-reno... Long live J.J.....
As you'd expect really Those going in the pool were wearing pool attire, those not were dressed as per a normal evening at Bash.
Thank you for such a great review. I was wondering if they still push the Premier Membership on you when you are checking in? I dread that part. When we get there, we just want to get the party started, not sit the there and listen to a sales pitch.
Just say "no thanks" politely with some firmness. Never had anyone too pushy. Last trip they didn't even try. Honestly, I wouldn't mind checking it out, but will never be pressured into it.
As promised our trip report...it is long but hopefully will help someone by answering some questions and providing a feel. Grab a cup of coffee and a snack! Trip Report –TTR: Sat, June 13th thru Sat June 20th As we previously reported, there were no issues at the airports (Dallas –Love & DFW) or on arrival at CUN. Same for the trip back home. Due to limited number of travelers we breezed thru Security and Immigration. We have TSA-Pre and Global Entry but it really made no difference as it was just not that busy. Travelers did not have to wear masks while at airports. All airport staff was wearing masks and many gloves. But, all travelers had to wear masks to board and while on the aircraft, except when drinking or eating. So, we ate and drink a lot! USA Transfers was a breeze. Be sure to download the App for status, etc. Also they now have an option to pay online so the only cash you need is for a tip…be sure to tip your driver! Our driver asked us to wear masks because of 1-2 checkpoints along the way….we stopped at one so the police could look into the vehicle and simply give the thumbs up to proceed. According to our driver, USA Transfers can be he fined if the driver or the passengers (no more than 2 in our case but I think this is the current rule) are not wearing masks. Occupancy: For the week 25-33% depending on the day. They are ramping up quickly and based on reservation and talking to management expect to be back to near 80% by the end of July. Typically it is slower in the Summer but with all the delays folks are booking because they cannot wait to get back. We ourselves are booked for Labor Day 9-1 thru 9-10 and Halloween 10-24 thru 11-4 so we will be “home” again! Arrival: We arrived around noon and were greeted by DJ blasting music and Pole dancer in lobby, also by Patric and some of the other Premier managers, staff, our Butler, and some others. It was “welcome home” time. It was certainly nice to be back and appreciated the reception and hart felt thanks for being there. “Our” Plush Jacuzzi room (room # …that we have learned to love so much) was not ready as there was someone “checking out” that had been there Wed-Sat. What are the odds of that? Word later was they asked someone to move but who knows as we are not that special…lol! So we dumped our luggage with the Bell Hops as usual for safe keeping and delivery to our room once the room was ready. Turned out it was ready in no time but we hung out at the pool and hot tub until 6ish. I think in all our visits our room has been ready, around our typical arrival time of noon about 50% of the time. Lunch: Buffet Rain open every day. Only one side was open, not the two as is usual. Sky Bar was open every day except closed on Mondays (always is, see below). The buffet was more of an assisted buffet where you walk up along a rope and tell the staff what you wanted. Servers still brought out drinks as usual. Food was good and appeared the same choices as usual. Sky Bar was the same as usual and if you have been up you know the food choices are a little different and excellent. We recommend to those whom even have to pay the ~$20 each to make at least one trip up for the atmosphere, food, views, and photo ops. The pool, hot tub, and round loungers are great too. And don’t forget to use those pool side stripper poles! Remember Sky Bar is closed on Mondays and only open 11am-6pm…no night time activities unless a private event (some takeovers or special events) or for Premier Dinner on Thursdays. We forgot about the beach cookout for Premier Members so we missed out on some good lobster, shrimp, muscles, etc. There is also Triciclos and Parrilla Sexy open every day but to be honest we do not know where or what they are as we are drawing a blank! They also brought food around on carts at the pool later each day for those whom needed more or forgot to get out of the pool to have lunch. Sexy Pool: Then it was on to the pool after changing into our suits. Hint: always carry a bag with all that is needed, including sun screen, our Bubbas and straws just in case room is not ready. No issue obtaining chairs but we opted for a cabana…reserved for Premier to dump our towels, shoes, and bag. Actually, this is a nice benefit. It was a small crowd but it was nice to see a bunch of old friends. Lots of newbies, which is great for the TTR business model but the vibe was a little dull until they got into the swing of things. It was great to see the staff again. JJ and The Playmakers did their usual good job on the typical pool games and contests, pool volleyball, beach volleyball, etc. Pool temperature was fine…just cool enough and certainly not too hot. The Quiet Pool was open all week but the bar was not, except right before dinner when She or Romanza were open. It was always very dead when we walked back and forth to the rooms. But we did stick our toes in just to say we “entered” the Quiet Pool! On other trips we sometimes spend at least some of the day there for the quiet, especially if hung over or simply to recharge…but now prefer the Sky Bar. Hot Tub (on ramp by Bash): Had limited occupancy of 35 but never saw it enforced. Of course there were just not that many visitors and at times very few tubers. We have been in it when you could not possibly squeeze another body in. Not this trip and at most maybe 40. It was closed for repairs 2-3 days for a pump. So it was drained and cleaned. It is the first time we have ever seen the bottom…lol and they got the floor jets working but the seat chair jets were turned off. We did our best to help bring back that murky TTR hot tub water Pool Foam Party: Rather than the typical Saturday foam party at the pool, for this “Special First Saturday” back they held a night time foam party with black lights for glow theme rather than Bash (it was closed). It was ok but I do not recall too many people in when we were there but we were beat and called in in at midnight. This is one of our “rules” to be in by midnight the first day due to the long day of travel. We learned this the hard way the first few visits when we stayed out very late and struggled the next several days to get our sea legs back. Friends told us the next day it was an “interesting” time and others commented that it turned into a “shit show” (think good time here). Patric had mentioned that they may do it on a more regular basis, but who knows. We were at one either V-Day (Feb) or Halloween and it was just too damn cold. Bash: For the rest of the week, Bash was Bash and the themes were the themes and on some nights the crowds were bigger than others. Participation was good so the Newbies were either visiting with people in the know or they made it to this site. The music was basically the same as always, and the same night after night (sorry long time music critics). Entertainment was typical and do not recall anything different. We typically do not show up earlier then 10pm when the entertainment begins. The show typically lasted ~30 minute. There did not seem to be as many Playmakers. Ingrid, Natasha, and the English girl (sorry, cannot remember name) were there. Sexy Poppy and a few of the other guys were also there. The dancers that come in to perform were pretty much the same and we recognized several of them. They also perform at Desires. I also noted that they were allowing guests to take photos and videos of the shows which I do not recall on previous trips. Dinner: The restaurants were open on a rotating basis all week on an every other night. Was Romanza (Italian), Sea Flirt (Sea Food), and Amores (Mexican) on M-W-F and Sutra (Asian and Habachi), She (not sure but had been small plate and sexy show but heard it had changed), Flame (Steak House…one side of Buffet Rain) on Tu -Th-Sat. Menus were limited (or possibly changed for now or forever) in some so you may not be able to get a typical favorite dish. Breakfast: Buffet Rain was open every day. Buffet Flame was closed all week. Salon Flame was open every day, but I have no idea what it is. I recall only one side of Buffet being open but you could sit on either side depending on size of crowd at the time. The servers will grab you if coming in via pool entrance but you need to check in at the desk at the main entrance at bottom of stirs up to lobby to give name and room number. Most sadly, Sea Flirt (our favorite go to breakfast place) was closed for breakfast all week. We recall hearing that it was now only open to Premier Members some time ago, but not sure. If so, it makes sense to be closed as there were a limited number of Members visiting anyway. We just love mixing the American and Mexican breakfasts…both are fantastic. But since we have the Plush Jacuzzi we enjoyed Room Service breakfast most mornings while lounging in the hot tub on our patio. Damn is it nice to be spoiled. Gym: The gym was open but by appointment only. There can only be so many people in at one time. The most we saw was 8. We set an appointment daily with Luis for 10am and made it most days to keep us feeling normal. We brought our COVID-19 bellies and were trying to keep them from getting even bigger! Luis is still keeping it spotless and even more so now always wiping and sanitizing. Score (Sports Bar): Score was closed all week except when it rained twice so they opened it up since pool was closed. A nice place to visit but to me still smells moldy as always. Weather: Temperature was nice but it was humid. Also as mentioned it did storm a bit and was cloudy some days. Sometimes it rained at night. All of this may be typical for June as it was or first visit in June. We love April and also Halloween time. We have visited in the months of Feb, Mar, April, now June, Aug, Sept, Oct, and Nov. I think each month the weather is a bit different but always good…enough except for the occasional storm or hurricane. Of course the biggest difference appears to be to pool water temperature. Boobs Cruise: First one back on Monday, June 15th was great as usual. It was limited to 34 cruisers. There was plenty of room on the boat. The crew did a wonderful job. Steve and Jannet attended and hosted a fine cruise as usual. Chinos and Sarah entertained and the games were interesting and fun as typical. Whatever happens on the BC stays on the BC, so we will not ruin the fun for any Newbies by supplying any details. You will just have to wait to experience it yourself. I can still remember all of my anticipation before our first BC after hearing this and that. We both were just like kids awaiting Christmas morning! Our best advice is do not sit back and be shy and jump in and make friends early. You will all be friends at the end anyway so don’t waste too much time. The weather was a little iffy and we dodged in and out of some sprinkles but not too bad. I highly recommend that everyone try it. Typically always Mondays and Fridays unless a special cruise for certain groups. I suggest early in your visit as you will make friends for the rest of the week. But never your first full day in order to experience TTR first. And never on your last full day as the trip home the next day may not be such an “enjoyable” experience. And be sure to tip the crew as they work hard to keep you cup full and to be sure you have a good time. Tipping: My manifesto…tip, tip, tip everyone, early and often. USA Transfer Driver, Bell Hops, Butler, Room Service, Bar Tenders, Waiters, Housekeeping, Coffee Bar, Towel Boy/Girl, etc. A couple of bucks goes a long way and show appreciation for all of the hard work the staff does to make our vacations so enjoyable. Five dollar bills go even further. Enough said. PM us if you need more info as we may have just missed some things…or simply cannot recall! Sincerely, your FAKENEWSTEAM… Paul and Rayanne
Hi, We are looking forward to being there on July 4th. I understand that the beaches are currently closed. Please tell me that the massage hut 100 yards down of the left is open? Thanks,
They ask us to do it every time. We are members already and I have told them no since we became members. I tell them that I am not interested in buying in anymore or upgrading at this time but they always try to tell me they have "new things that we need to know" I still say no but they always make me sign up for a meeting. I just unplug the room phone and conveniently miss the meeting every year. They got kind of pushy with me this year and called the room(had the phone plugged in because we literally just ordered room service) on our 5th day because I didn't go to the meeting on our 3rd day. I told them again that I wasn't interested and the lady on the phone got kind of rude but I said no thank you and hung up. We are going in September and I might actually go to the meeting just to get them off my back LOL. But I am going to be very firm with them on a max of 20 minutes and I won't be going upstairs to talk about any contracts!
