Land borders are closed. These don't affect air travel. Sunwing flew in from Toronto today. Air Canada has a flight coming in from Toronto tomorrow Yes you do have a 14 day quarantine on return as do Brits also. Some people are ok with that, others not.
No flights available to Cancun from our Airport till August now. Of course even then it will 14 days when I get home.
What are you hearing in the 14 day quarantine period? We are going in October and I’m not sure it will be lifted by then, especially with all the southern states exploding with Covid cases.
We live in Kelowna BC, we have two options currently. Kelowna-Vancouver-Mexico City-Cancun (AeroMexico) or Kelowna-Toronto-Cancun. (Air Canada) There is no restriction on air travel.
We live down here, so we have a pretty unique perspective, at least. We've never been to TTR. We just booked, and the earliest date we were comfortable with was in September. Mexico will still be a gong show for the rest of the summer, imo.
The hotter it gets, the more 'inland' people go to their beach houses/weekend trip/beach day. Unfortunately, this puts Playa, Tulum, and Cancun in a rough spot with the massive influx of people. The beaches are closed but are still packed everywhere. Fingers crossed.
Not in Cancun, the public access points of which there are only a handful are cordoned off and manned by Police or Security. Only hotel guests have beach access.
