Somewhat... I opened up my office this week. Sure enough, the lunatics were frothing at the mouth, trying to get in to see someone aboutt their perceived problem(s). My problem was that I was not mentally and/or emotionally and/or spiritually ready for them. For the past 2-plus months, my days have consisted of waking up... sometimes at 8:00 a.m., sometimes at Noon, getting some coffee in my face, asking Stacia what she was going to do which universally consisted of "If the weather is good, I'm going out by the pool." Well, that's good as she's either nude or in something that would be TTR-expert ready. We do that for a couple hours, deciding and discussing what it is that we're going to request for dinner from Door Dash, eventually go in if the weather is nice, or quicker if it isn't. Clean up from sun time, go upstairs to media room and cuss & discuss what it is that we're going to experience via the massive screen... Facebook videos? Comedy specials? Porn, so as to foll around and feel like it's a party? A ESPN special like Last Dance? Another re-run of the Chiefs trouncing the crap out of the Texans in last year's Divisional NFL Playoff round... what? Bourbon (me) and vodka/wine (she) is consumed. Rinse lather repeat. I got SO relaxed! And then back to the crazy folk.
I’m in NC now, biggest case spike here Coronavirus cases take biggest jump, as crowds in NC cities protest police killing
I suppose, kind of. The story does talk about protesters, and corona, but doesn’t really link the two. Any spike from protest would t be seen for at least a week, and that wasn’t mentioned. I wasn’t saying it there were no stories on it, I just hadn’t seen any. They hadn’t made my feed like the Memorial Day stuff.
Hmm, I read that as, cases have spiked and protesting starting. The two are mutually exclusive I think. And perhaps it alludes to it getting worse due to the protest.
I guess if that is what they are alluding to, then they are misleading the facts, at least what I have been told. Cases don’t spike until at least two weeks after groups are together, not during. There is a decent incubation period. If they would have said, we could EXPECT a spike then I would have found that article as a good rebuttal to my post. I’m still standing firm... lol.
Right, it starts with: “ North Carolina added more than 1,100 coronavirus cases to its total Saturday, the largest single-day increase since the pandemic first struck the state.” Then “ News of the latest increase also arrived as protesters marched in downtown Durham and began to gather in downtown Raleigh in a show of support for George Floyd” These are two events, not related by any cause or correlation. It’s like saying, my favorite sports team is on a 5 game losing streak, going into playing the division leaders this weekend. Their losing streak isn’t because they’re going to play the leaders of the division. But I might be completely misunderstanding you’re original post
Yeah I think so. My original point was after last weekend I saw many stories on my feed about how outbreaks were going to becoming in a few weeks, BECAUSE of the selfish partiers on the lakes last weekend. I didn’t see stories of outbreaks expected in the future, because of the riots. Len did point me to one however, I don’t think yours met the same standard of predicting new outbreaks, because of protest, and therefore putting some blame on them.
Our Dad used to say “ the younger generation is shot to shit”. Looking at all the rioters of all races, they all appear to be young and I suppose disenfranchised. I think Dad was right, but I am old now too. He is probably holding his belly laughing up a storm or turning like a rotisserie chicken at 60 rpm.
The two are mutually exclusive, they are two separate unrelated stories. The fact they put them in the same article and even the same headline is an attempt to subliminally link the two and influence the stupid. Which is the whole idea.
