Glad you said that, because I’m trying to be cautious of that too, and don't just want to fill the thread with every "politically motivated" article. I did click on the link in the article to see if the stats were actually from the CDC. To me those numbers are the crux of the article. Also, to me, they seem legit, but I'm not an expert, and it is the internet... I'm just really not believing the doomsday early predictions, and these numbers kind of show they were exaggerated. Kind of like the last thing I posted, that showed they used the flawed Ferguson model early on. Wouldn't it be interesting if we got all of our information in print, and not from visual media? Just hearing Trump or Fauci say something can have a totally different reception to the audience based on prior opinions. Here is the CDC link. Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Visual media really started...Hmm. Fun Fact: "The world’s first electronic television was created by a 21 year old inventor named Philo Taylor Farnsworth. That inventor lived in a house without electricity until he was age 14." History of the Television I think the beginning of the end for paper news was in 1941 when, 13 years after the first electronic TV was invented, the very first TV commercial aired. It was for a Bulova watch and only lasted 10 seconds, by the way. Isn't the internet great?! Back to your question about print vs. the "spokesman news" we primarily intake nowadays. Or now-a-daze, if you prefer. The video of a respected person showing taps brain biology. If we trust that person, then what the person says must be correct. Vice-versa if you don't. Think so-&-so's an idiot... well, then whatever comes out of his/her face probably doesn't ring true with you. Probably not because of the truth or falsity of the statement itself, either. Besides, most people have a problem with attention span... ...which is why I just shortened this post.
I just make up my own numbers. It’s easier and does not take any research. And, no data mining. I like easy now days. Plus, I simply agree with them so I have no debate. Also, I am always right so it is a win-win for me. But if not, I can simply change my numbers and my story just like all the other “experts”. Try it, and you might like it too. Hey, wait a minute, I think others have already beat me to it. They are everywhere and “reporting” each and every day. Wait, breath in, breath out...
Ok John, here we go. We need entertainment now more then ever so please do not take offense... What we have been hearing and reading for months has been agenda driven and filled with fake news . Not all but nearly everything. Everybody has an angle, plain and simple. And it is not all about our health. And...just like any lawyer great Texan or not, prosecution or defense. Someone needs to win to cease the power and de mone! Mic drop...
Took me a sec to decode thetypos but I gotcha. I've been guilty several times of lazily just typo-ing along. Screw speel-check, y'all know what I meant.
As for media agenda... I find it interesting that all we heard after last weekends beach/lake partiers, that they were going to be a reason for another wave coronavirus starting up. I read about some people saying that shouldn’t even be allowed to be treated, because they were so selfish with their actions. Maybe I have missed it, but I haven’t heard of one report if the media talking about new corona outbreaks, because of all the riots going on. Has the virus disappeared, or since the rioters were wearing ,ask, maybe they were being safe enough?
I was watching a channel last night that some of you would likely call fake news so I am sure it will come as a shock to you that more then once it was mentioned that the protesters were not wearing masks and/or practicing social distancing and that this could lead to more infections. So, yes you did miss more than one report.
