Go ahead, and file this under, "I found an article to fit my position", because this certainly is one. On top of that I listened to Zeke Emanual on MSNBC today, and he was not discouraging schools opening. He had lots of stats where sure, you will find a case or two of young people getting Covid, but that number is less then the average number of deaths that young people live with right now.

    Random Question (i.e. Threadjack):

If you're the bartender, and someone comes up and says, "Hey, make me a COVID shot..."

    ....um... what goes in it?

Got to be some good recipes flowing out of all y'all's (use of double apostrophe intended, hey now!) imaginations!

    Absinthe and Baijiu.
Absinthe because this is such a surreal situation. And Baijiu is made in China. Hope that doesn’t rub anyone the wrong way. If COVID originated in the U.S., I would have totally said bourbon.

The comment isn't racist. To think so is pandering to the hysteria of the US press.

By your logic Scottish Whiskey, Russian Vodka and Colombian Coffee would also be racist.

Thanks for saying that Steve. People wanting to be offended by everything, and projecting their feeling onto another group is just maddening.

When did we become so soft the any joke is offensive?

OK... that is some dark humor right there, pahdnah... I admit, it dropped right into my old-paramedic box and I almost snorted my ketone drink.

Huh. that strikes me as a bit too aggressive of a response. Racism and an outright accusation of being a racist? Poor taste for civilized folks, I'd go there with you... but not the other. It struck me as leaping at something intended as being funny so as to push a viewpoint while out of context. I can see a perspective where you could take it that way, but we do get to disagree with you.

I'm thinking that the objection was to the arsenic part, but I may be wrong. Though I am wondering about Chinese apple juice now... I had thought that apple juice was apple juice, regardless of the continent upon which such apples were grown and then the derivative therefrom was prepared. *shrug*

Depends on your historical point of view. Perhaps as far back as 1917, when the Marxist influence on what was going to become the U.S.S.R. was in its budding stages. Alternatively, in Western culture, around 1987 when the left started making fun of, and attacking the characteristics of, the right.
