It will be closed for quite some time. I have a trip planned in November and doubt it will be open by then.
It appears the Governor of Quintana Roo has indicated that each hotel must acquire a "health certification" from the government prior to opening. The Governor indicated June was still a possibility but not June 1. Who knows, perhaps the folks at Original Group already knew about the certification process and have already submitted the "Sexy and Sanitized" SOP's to get the green light. We are booked to arrive on June 6th, so we'll see.
I heard on the radio this morning that Mexico is just peaking now. I think it’s going awhile (early 2021?) before things start to back to normal but who knows?
No one really knows the answer to this question. Just like no one knows what “normal” or the “new normal” will be. We may have to cancel our June trip due to Rayanne’s employer rules based on the level 4 travel advisory. Will wait another week to see if it gets revised to level 3 and what employer’s rules will be. Or simply cancel and wait for booked Sept trip.
Wait... wasn't it just yesterday that the Quintana Roo gov. insisted that he was going to assert that tourism was "essential" to the state? Misled in the meaning of "essential" in the context of the pandemic I think, but wasn't it just yesterday that I read that on here, somewhere? Someone had a link... I am so confused. Maybe I'm Not going to DRM on the 26th after all. Damn. Or, maybe I am???
I know the feeling! I'm so tired of this. Th day before yesterday I woke up excited that we were going On June 23rd to TTR. Then later that day my bubble was bursted with a possibility with the stupid travel ban being extended. I'm tired of this up and down it's an emotional rollercoaster.
