Hopefully. 23 deaths in a day is horrible for the Cancun area.

Yes, the number of deaths was higher than previous days :(

A total of 106 deaths out of a population of 1 Million in Cancun over 7 weeks.

Thankful to be part of the 99.9894% Cancun population that hasn't died from it.

The number of positive tests has now passed the negative tests. Clearly, only symptomatic people are being tested, and almost surely only those presenting with very significant symptoms, given the total number of tests.

Are you suggesting that people with no symptoms should be tested?

That's not happening even in Canada.

Current testing protocol (summarised) in Mexico is:

    High priority:
    • Hospitalized patients that show symptoms
    • Health workers who exhibit symptoms, as well as people who work in places such as prisons and shelters, who show symptoms.

    Normal priority:
    • People with potential Covid19 symptoms: fever, shortness of breath, goosebumps, muscle pain, throat ache, vomit, diarrhea, impairment of sense of smell or taste.
    • People without symptoms that, for any reason, are prioritized by health professionals, including those who are tested as a statistical sample for the sentinel surveillance model.

In Alberta they’re testing asymptomatic contacts of people with COVID-19 and asymptomatic workers at outbreak sites.

The list of symptoms has been expanded to included over 16 different symptoms. Included is ‘Feeing unwell in general’ and runny nose. Given it’s spring here I think everybody with mild allergies would be eligible for testing under this criteria.

I'm not "suggesting" anything. I'm making an observation.

Fully understood. Being from Alberta we barely recognize Ontario as being relevant. ;) ;)
