Hi all, we'd like to book our first trip to Temptation in October but aren't sure of the difference between staying in the Tower or the regular rooms. There's a waiting list on some of the Tower rooms but several openings on the regular rooms. If we booked a regular room, do we still get access to all the fun (and naughty) shenanigans?

IMO the only real difference is free access to sky bar (on top of the tower) a lot less foot traffic up there, but I do enjoy the area, hot tubs and pool. Great place for lunch. I do believe one of the restaurants require premier membership or tower stay for breakfast. Otherwise, you’re not really missing anything staying in non tower rooms.

Opinions are going to vary about this. Some people Really value their room while on vacation, other people just treat it as "the place I keep my stuff."

As for shenanigans, you'll probably not miss any naughty stuff that's out in the open, the only thing you might miss is if you were staying in the Tower and happened across some shenanigans happening in a room, like a quasi-private party in someone'sroom. That'd be it, but you could miss that by being on the wrong floor. Generalized Sexy Pool, beach, and Bash tomfoolery will be all accessible, no problem.

Two words...ice machines!!! Was almost a deal breaker for us. We always keep a few bottles in our room for warm ups but in the Garden View room, you have a long way to walk to keep ice in the room. We solved that by getting a good sized collapsible cooler. Having said that, we are booked for the Tower this July so hoping it’s a little better. Either way though, you’ll still have a great time.

Thanks everyone! Looks like the tower is mostly booked in October so we’re likely in the regular rooms.

If we stayed in a trendy garden room, is there a way to have access to the Tower to see friends, the hot tub, and whatnot?

Daily passes are available for $20 per person per day. That's only to get to the rooftop area (pool, hot tub, bar). You have access to rooms if you are going with friends.

The upgrade between a garden room and a tower room is usually a bit more than the $40 (for a couple) it would take to get access to the roof for a day. We stay in the tower, but if we didn't we would prob go to the roof a couple of times during a 10 day trip, but not every day. Staying in the tower we usually spend our time on the roof in the mornings and early afternoons, for lunch, and then migrate to the Sexy pool/beach for a few hours, say around 2ish. Sometimes it feels like we are missing time at the sexy pool and have to choose where to go . We went to the quiet pool a couple times our first trip, but have not much since, but would probably use it more if we didn't have access to the tower roof.

I'd say if your contemplating which to get for your first trip, do a garden/ocean view room then get a pass to go to the roof top. A lot of tower guests don't use the roof at all.
If you love the roof then you can always get a tower room for your next trip, it would be something to look forward to.

And with the tower your life is defendant upon the elevators working, sometimes has been a problem.

Also hair problems with the tower. Kay will spend time on her hair, sometimes a lot, and while walking to the elevator (the hallways are not closed in and wind can be funneled past the elevators) her hair get all windblown. Not a happy camper, gets in her lipstick, etc...

And ...tho towers have road noise, because the hallways are open and elevated above the road, air conditioners, sirens, etc. I have heard that Bash noise is bad, but usually stay at bash until it closes.

Tower will get you free room service, but we don't use it that much.
