***april Addicts 2020***

Well, with westjet shutting us down, I have to postpone my trip to a later date. June 28th seems to be my target now :’(

 

Try Halloween week if not already sold out.
Several April Addicts typically go.
Great fun crowd.
Hard for people with young kids though.

 

My teenaged son made it out of Madrid a couple hours ago and is en route to Frankfurt. I will not relax til he is on his flight to Toronto.

I have to say that I am stunned by people posting on the March Roll Call to say that they are going to the resort this week or next week come hell or high water. WTF?

 

Me too! I was stubborn at first, but mostly I was just fighting back at my conscience telling me it was a bad idea. I also kept hoping it would just get better, but it’s only going to get worse.

I work with immunocompromised patients, and I can’t be taking risks like that. Coming into the hospital today was nuts...everyone getting their temps taken before you can go to work or to their appointments. We are canceling all non-urgent appointments. Houston has shut down bars and restaurants. I’m still in shock and denial about it all...it can’t be that bad, can it?

I’m glad your son is en route home! That’s got to be so stressful!

 

Alexander has an EU passport, so he got to bypass the long line of international travellers in Frankfurt, and he is in line to board his flight to Toronto. No health screening in sight.

As for our April TTR booking, I am VERY happy to report that the resort agreed to simply slide my booking over to next April, so I kept my rate and the deal I cut to get a Master suite! Same reservation number, even. Ecstatic about this. It's such a time suck to search for room deals every year. We will just have to be pimpin' in the Master suite for Sean's 51st birthday instead of his 50th! WHO'S IN FOR APRIL 17-25, 2021?

 

I’m still waiting on a reply from them about rebooking.

 

We asked to do the exact same thing but haven't heard yet. Hopefully, I'll get to celebrate my 51st at the same time. Just seems like such a very long time to wait!

Rescheduled to August 16-20.

 

Canceling and rebooking for next year if we can. Expedia is overwhelmed with calls and won't talk to us unless it's seven days before the trip.

 

Looks like Trump is closing the US > Mexico border to all travel. What a mess. Glad to see the resort is willing to move things around. Hold on for the bumpy ride and good luck to all.
