We received an email sfrom the resort stating that they are having a weekly miss temptations competition followed by an online vote to get a final winner. Has anyone watched a contest yet? Just wondering what it entails.
Yikes. I'm shocked they are bringing back the online voting. I was Miss Temptation April 2012, so I have have first hand experience with how political and controversial the online contest became, and there was much criticism here on CCC (look for the old threads on the topic). It was widely believed that the resort would manipulate the voting to ensure that the weekly winner whom TTR wished to win the monthly contest did in fact win it. It causes a lot of hard feelings and disappointment for the women who compete, as there is much hard work done by the weekly winners to solicit votes from everyone they know. The resort is the big winner, as having the contestants madly running around trying to get people to log in to the site and vote has tremendous promotional value for the resort. I would hope that this reboot of the contest will not suffer from the same unfairness and ill will, but it's a rather faint hope, sadly. There used to be a wonderful prize package if you won the poolside contest, including an upgrade to a better room, massage for two, tix to Coco Bongo, etc., so if they are offering that again, it is certainly worthwhile to sign up to do the weekly contest. It's the online voting part that is bogus.
I have not been to the resort since this new format involving online voting has been instituted, so I can't help you with that, I'm sorry. Back in 2012, it was pole dancing, giving your best rendition of an orgasm, and collecting the most men's swimtrunks. Sometimes it would require getting naked to win, if your contest had a gal who was super-motivated to win. But that was 8 years ago, so who knows what the contest will involve now. You're a beautiful girl...give it a go if there's a great prize package for the poolside contest. Just keep your expectations low with the online contest.
I was there the first week of January and it is still the same with the same games. The woman who won ended up getting naked, not sure if that’s what caused her to win. They only allow I think 4 ladies to compete each week. The big winner at end of year gets a deee stay at TTR with airfare includes. I think it’s 5 days.
I won't be supporting the new Miss Temptation contest here on Cancuncare or in our Facebook group. If other group owners read this, I would strongly suggest you do the same. I'll be deleting vote begging threads/posts. Please report them if you see them. Not to be a Debbie downer but last time many years ago there were so many issues, Match refers to some of those above (quoted below). There were other issues too. Please remember that from the Resort's point of view this is a marketing campaign. The whole intention is an email grab, they collect the emails of all voters so that they can direct market to you in the future. They're relying on the contestants for free publicity and social community owners to play along, leaving us to deal with all the 'shit' it brings with no responsibility from themselves. Not this guy.
Yep, while it's a rollickin' good time while AT Temptation, remember some things do work best when they stay on vacation. It got stupid.
The gal who won that first week has a huge personality which helped her to win. Not that Nice Shoes didn't help also.
Thanks Steve. Totally agree with your approach. For those not familiar years ago there would be competing threads on here, followed by immature battles over who deserved it more, PM messages begging for votes, claims of fraud/unjust winners and all of this for a simple free trip. I agree that the best approach is to just enjoy and support the participants when at TTR live and then ignore the debates that will follow online.
