The last Two times we've been to DRM they didn't give out the phone cam "over-stickers" any longer, and they said they have a more photo friendly attitude towards the pic taking, as long as the pic-taker is respectful of other folk's privacy and wish to not be distrubed or photographed. This, from the members desk staff while we checked in. Both times. It seemed to be well-followed at DRM. But... DRM has a WAY different crowd than TTR, especially now.
Never saw anyone taking pics or even phones out during our Nov 2019 trip. Everyone was respectful. First time in 10 years, without my phone — stuck it in the safe! My work peeps — don’t even bother calling me — I’m off the grid!!
The stickers at DRM are really only good when you are looking at your phone and have it pointed towards people to show that you are not taking a pic. Other than that mine is usually off the lens so we can capture a moment between the two of us. Im glad they kicked him out. He must have been warned several times and deserved it. After all, being seen topless on social media isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and can be costly if it gets in the wrong hands.
I'm just glad to see the people on this forum are being more respectful of the TTR staff and what they did vs the people on facebook who are just screaming to arrest / lynch / tar and feather both the guy who got kicked and the resort staff... Its over, its done, its handled.. Move on.
I am at the resort now. Not our first visit. There are people taking pics and videos EVERYWHERE. Never saw it like this before. They are absolutely, positively not enforcing the no photo policy - I lost count of the number of times security directly looked at people videoing or taking pics, and just ignored them. Not returning until this gets fixed. Everyone here more than a day or so is going to be in many, many photos.
Based on my own in person observation today, the photo/video problem most certainly has not been handled.
There are many photos from TTR on this forum. It can be done. We took photos and were in friends photos without getting anyone else in the shot. Worst case, you ask someone to slide a foot one way or the other for a sec. We never noticed anyone taking creeper shots and I suspect if they did would stick out like a sore thumb. That's a different situation.
Well, I can’t speak to your experience or the pics you took, but all I can say is that our experience here today and the past few days is different. YMMV.
