I know some of the restaurants require pants. Are jeans acceptable, or should I bring dress pants? Dress pants means I need to pack dress shoes, but jeans mean I can just wear my usual AM90s that I’ll wear on the plane.

Nice jeans are fine for most places. SHE will likely require slacks.

I always pack linen pants for dinner...not dress pants.

Pants and flip-flops work! Think smart casual or relax is what the place is looking for. Shorts surely don't cut it but as long as it's covered and not full of holes, it should work.
Funny thing is that ladies can be half naked and it's all fine. Works for me anyways! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you get in a bind and really want to have a nice supper, just ask friends if they could spare a pair and join them for the evening! ;););)
This also works for dresses!!! LOL Had to be there!

Flip flops are a no go, must have closed toe shoes.
I know this from recent experience.
