Have seen them being more prevalent during several trips but can't remember dates. I once dispatched a bee between my fingers as it approached a topless lady next to me at the pool bar. Thought I might have been thanked but instead was scolded for harming the bee. I am staying out of this in future. Live and let sting!
Steve said one time they are really bad at a certain time of year, and not really any other time. Last week of October three years ago they were really bad. We never got stung, but there were thousands of them.
How ungrateful! I would have thanked you! Don't get me wrong, I love bees and know how important they are for the environment but they are about as welcome at the Sexy pool as a pack of roving frat boys.
I seriously can't believe NOBODY has said "Boo-Bees" in this thread yet. It is the sexy pool after all.
When we visited once and there was a PhD bug guy who told us what kind of bees they were, etc and was picking them up out of the water and handling them! Anyway, I do not recall if they were a honeybee, yellow jacket, etc. Does anyone know? For Rayanne it does not matter as she does not like them and as I posted earlier has been stung/bit twice so she has no patience for them. When younger she was allergic and we always carried an epipen. We no longer have it or carry it but were thinking about carrying it when we visit in late Oct. Apparently she is no longer allergic or it was a different kind of bee. Or, maybe all the alcohol fixed her up!!!
Yeah I got stung in the hand last Oct over HnH week, there was a lot at that time, we'll see about this year....keeping finger's crossed....or a least hidden
Well Oct sucks as we are there 14-20 Oct. I’ve been stung by yellow jackets numerous times. Hurts but that’s it. IDK what are at TTR, but knowing the little jerks and how much they pirate sweet drinks I’m betting yellow jackets. Not much of pollinators so swat guilt free!✋
