Hi all. We are newbies booked for 5 nights next Independence Day weekend. Sadly, babysitting arrangements made for a shorter trip than we would have liked. Even getting away five nights came with some difficulty. Anyone out there have any hacks for finding dependable babysitting? Just hoping we are missing something obvious... Too bad they dont have a kids club at TTR....lol jk
We have had huge success using care.com You post an ad looking for what you need, and get applicants. In our area, we have had much interest in our postings. We post something to the effect that we are out of the country, and need a dependable, independent child care for x days. We also post what we’re willing to pay, so it’s just out there, and not wasting anyone’s time. From there, we have interviewed and tested (for an evening or a night) generally college students that wound up sitting for us on date nights, all the way up to 10 nights at TTR.
We just fill this up with Captain crunch, wrap them in bubble wrap to keep them from killing each other and run out the door. Good luck, my wife has always been a wizard at getting care for the kids. It tough to do but worth it Just something to keep in mind whoever you leave them with make sure they are someone you trust nearby has temporary power of attorney for medical treatment.
Thanks for the replies. Good point on the power of attorney! Al n kristie: I am going to pm you when I get a break here and can gather my thoughts. I have a couple of follow up questions with regards to your situation with care.com if that's alright...
I'm bringin granny with me and she'll be partying like a rock star, just takes a little longer to recoup in the morning. Heck, she probably won't start drinking till 11 or so. If you're in the sexy pool and she walks up to you to show you pics of either the grandkids or our dog, swim away! swim away!
