The long awaited list for the changes to the referral program have been posted. (There is no reason to dislike or disagree this posting itself. Don't kill the messenger.)
My thoughts on this are that is really isn't that bad, IF the referral rate is actually better than 3rd party sites. Then people still have incentive to book a referral. Without the rates being more competitive, there isn't much added benefit to go on the Referrals. I hope the gain in this for members is that getting premium drinks will never be a problem, and more people might actual buy into the membership now if they go on a referral (and not repeating), so that they do get the upgrades.
Agreed. It doesn't look bad at all. Certainly not the doom and gloom, the sky is falling scenario that people were panicking over. -Chris
The no premium drink selection would be the only thing I would like to see on there. Course the one time I did go on a referral they ran out of Fireball and Rum Chata.
@Nashvegas @Menace2Sobriety just fyi....I'm not sure if this pertains to y'all since you booked your trip a few months ago.
By the way, in case you haven't seen the email sent to members (I got mine about 1/2 hour ago) all reservations made up to and including July 5th, will get black bands no matter when they arrive. However, 3rd party booking will get gold bands no matter when the reservation was made. So, 3rd party bookings will be affected in the next few days no matter when the reservation was made. Personally, I think that is fair since there was never an obligation to provide 3rd party bookings with Premier benefits - it was done as a courtesy to members. I am sure some of you will feel (loudly) otherwise.
Well the only reason we have done Referrals is for the premium liquor. We do the presentation as required. Even spent hours negotiating. But end result is we will never do a referral in the future since it no longer gets us premium liquor. Pretty simple. I would think we are the demographic they would want on a referral but oh well. Will be interesting to see how it effects referral numbers and if then in turn the policy changes. Personally I liked the idea of starting with a gold. Giving the black after you attend the presentation.
Agree with Jen,,, no Crown Royal = no referral, ,Being able to sit where you want was a bonus too . Segregation has always been a sore point for TTR, this is not the 60,s . So many people selling their memberships for pennies on the dollar , may just get one for the Crown .lol
