We’ve been to TTR many times, but have written little about our adventures. With so much change at TTR in the past few years it felt like a good time to share our experiences from our April 25th to April 30th trip.

This was a shorter visit for us. We usually like to go over a weekend to help save precious vacation time, and with Stephanie earning a recent promotion this was also not a time to be gone for long. Still, any opportunity to get away is welcome, and with a little creative planning we put together a trip in relatively short order. We also told few others we were coming. This trip was more about us.

Couples Travel was the service we went through for booking, and everything went perfectly, at a price we were comfortable with. We usually bring 12 to 20 assorted little single serve shots for our neighborhood on the plane, and as usual, they were very well received by those around us. You can always tell who is headed to Mexico hoping to party, and it kicks things off very well. On occasion the flight attendants will offer a stern warning about alcohol they didn’t sell us.… Debbie Downers – we’re going to TTR!!!! A couple contraband shots, a quick nap, and it’s the familiar, musty smell of the customs clearing hall, followed by a stab at the green button. The USA transfer crew was ready and waiting at the airport, and we piled in and popped open a cold Corona! That’s always a fantastic way to start the adventure, and I’m not even a beer lover except in a USA Transfer Van it seems.

Express check in days before makes all the difference it has in the past, which is to say for all intents and purposes imperceivable, but check in was quick enough and came with a margarita. Since we arrived close to 4pm our room was ready and we trotted off to 1712. That is a garden view, first floor abode, but it was perfect for us. We look for close to the pool, clean, a well-stocked refrigerator, and if it has a sliver of ocean view, we consider it a bonus. There was no ocean view this time, but the access couldn’t be beat. We were basically right behind the winding, highway ramp at the end of the Sexy pool, and back to back with the ocean. We also had a ground floor patio, which we made the most of. A shorter trip meant less to unpack, and minutes later I was sliding into my square cuts and Stephie found a bikini bottom that was little more than an eye patch! With bubba-mugs in hand we headed to see Armando and Saby, two of our favorites. Since it was already late afternoon, we weren’t in the pool long, but long enough, and then it was up to the hot tub for the community dip and occasional grope. Dinner followed, but on the way to Bash, Stephanie missed a step on one of those 3 hidden steps entering the garden area, spraining her foot. I got her back to the room and with a change of footwear and a careful step we managed to make it out, although without heels.

The following day we headed to the beach for a few hours. This was to be a trip that we would also relax, and we truly enjoyed playing in the water, feeling the sand between our toes, and just camping out on a chair under the trees. By midafternoon we were ready to join the party, and it was GAME ON! At some point in the afternoon we were lucky enough to meet another couple from CCC – LindiLou - Nik and Linda. It’s always great to meet other CCC peeps. Regrettably, somehow we missed Scuba Steve. Rather than heading up to the hot tub at the end of the afternoon, we headed back to our patio. There is often talk of “balcony shows”. Ours turned out to be more of a balcony shit show.

Stephie brought out her portable speaker, cranked up her play list, (no doubt immediately becoming the resorts best DJ - more on that later) and we began collecting beer, neighbors, and new friends. WOW.. At some point Stephie lost her bottoms to nobodies’ objection, but apparently as long as we stayed in our area it really wasn’t a problem. Security did stop by a couple times, but I have to give the guy credit. He was totally easy-going and we complied with his “suggestions”. No harm done, and no problem. In fact, a nice Irish couple a few rooms down stopped by, and after several drinks Ian proclaimed he was a doctor, much to the enlightenment of all, most especially his lovely wife Lynn. However, we did have an actual nurse Keisha (and her man Ken) and she managed to wrap Stephies foot thanks to my sprint across the street to the farmacia. Overall, our balcony shit show was a rousing block party in our small neighborhood, with the only harm coming to the landscaping, and our floor which looked like a dirt path to the bathroom. Had to give our housekeeping person a better tip the next day, but damn it was worth it!

Day three, four, and five were much of the same, with wonderful weather, great new friends, and nightly trips to dinner and Bash. We did forgo a Boobs Cruise this time because it was a shorter trip, but we thoroughly enjoyed the foam party on Saturday. We did manage to finally visit the Asian restaurant, which we enjoyed, and by special invitation, a private showing of a tower room, which we had never seen before. And the view is spectacular! It was a great way to cap off our last night of an awesome trip and we can’t wait to head back for Halloween.

    Our overall impression is this….

THE CROWD DURING OUR TRIP… Excellent! It was a good mix of ages, very friendly, no observed creepers, and no spring breakers. Plenty of topless, sexy fun and no pretentious posing. It seemed the entire crowd was just there to mingle, party, and generally have a great time with everyone else, regardless of who they were standing next to. Even on Boobs Cruise days it was busy around the pool, and many mingled in the water which we found to be comfortable. Great crowd! We Loved it!

ANY DOWNSIDES? The pool seating pods still bruise legs and are annoying, but cushions have been added to the waffle butt wire chairs. As others have mentioned, the pool music doesn’t fit the crowd well at all, and the DJ has absolutely NO IDEA how to read the audience he’s playing to. We requested 3 songs just to make a point to him. Even people who don’t love Bon Jovi were singing to Livin’ On a Prayer and a couple other songs requested, but then he’ll jump right back into thump, thump, thump, Coco Bongo wannabe music. We had people shouting and clapping; he kills the mood faster than a broken condom. Surely we could plug the system into nearly any guests phone and have a better playlist.

PHONES…. There were a few out, but not nearly as many as I expected, and those using them for a pic were taking care NOT to include others. I observed this several times. It seemed to be the policy of mutual respect was working. It was far less of an issue than it has been

OVERALL RESORT FEEL.. Sexy, fun, and a little more relaxed by the TTR management. Security was easy going and not overly involved. Overall the resort seems to be improving, and is feeling much more like the pre-renovation TTR, at least on this trip for us. It feels like they’re getting it figured out. They’re already making building repairs and this will likely always be the case, but the service is 5-star. We loved it!

Great trip report! Wish I would have walked that direction on day and stumbled into and out of your patio party.

Sorry as well we didn't get to meet, some trips it's crazy like that. Might be 10 feet away from someone, and with all craziness going on you pass like ships in the night.

That TR was great, and I owe y'all a couple... well as much as I write maybe I should just combine them and make it one, report of my own for our March & May TTR trips. Really have to get that odne before we goback in July, which would put me 3 behind. Ugh.

Our feel about everything (except that they started working on my fave place to hang out at night, the lobby bar right off of Bash's doors, when we were there. is very much parallel with the O/P. Good TR!

Thanks guys. Enjoyed the report a lot. Funny how when you read a report you connect and laugh with certain things. Like for us...

    1. 'in fact, a nice Irish couple a few rooms down stopped by, and after several drinks Ian proclaimed he was a doctor, much to the enlightenment of all, most especially his lovely wife Lynn.' Uh oh. Watch out for @Happydays Just consider yourself lucky that he only pretended to be a doctor and didn't also pretend to be a porn star and ask if you wanted to see what was under his kilt :)

    2. 'Even people who don’t love Bon Jovi were singing to Livin’ On a Prayer and a couple other songs requested, but then he’ll jump right back into thump, thump, thump, Coco Bongo wannabe music. We had people shouting and clapping; he kills the mood faster than a broken condom.' So funny as on the other thread people were complaining about the Bon Jovi. Cant win lol. But your point is well taken. It is more about reading the crowd and reacting accordingly than about playing a specific genre of music. Break free DJ and get creative!!!

    Thanks again. Enjoyed it.

    Hi guys,
Great trip report John. Brings back brilliant memories. That evening when we trampled your garden to death, cleared out a few mini fridges and rocked like Bon Jovi himself was epic.
OK, I'm no doctor, (strictly speaking) but those certificates are way over rated.
Maybe see you guys in 2020.

    Doc ian
