Historically I've had to bring an extra bag just for the goods...Diet Pepsi (pepsi lite = gross), Red Bull, Jager, and Goose. Heavy and a workout but nice knowing that I have everything and no shopping required. Faster to the sexy pool! haha. Buuuuut, I'm willing to give it a shot this July buying local. Assuming duty free after immigration should have the Jager and Goose. Suggestions for Red Bull? Distributed in Mexico? Guessing WalMart... I know that the D.P. will still need to come with me from the states. Other than Sprite, all of the soda down there just doesn't taste the same.
The reason the non-diet soda doesn’t taste the same is because they use real sugar, not high fructose corn syrup. As far SA pepsi-light, idk how it is sweetened. I much prefer Mexican soda.
Thx. It was such an obvious answer, right? lol But can I get it on arrival to Cancun to take to the resort?
Always better to ask than not know for sure. Yes 100% There is a small duty free right as you're picking up your checked bags.
Sam, the thing to warn people about the lower levels of liquor at the Cancun airport is that they have hardly ANY of what we in the states would call "The Good Stuff." Small-batch bourbon, Good scotch (i.e. the Glens), like that. You can't find hardly any of the newer, good flavored vodka in Mexico, but most fo the time you could find at least a small selection of things in the Duty Free stateside. Higher end tequila you can get all kinds of places in Cancun, but not at the airport. Not the really good stuff, you've got to get a cab to get you to an actual liquor store there in town. You can secure things like Crown Royal, Elijah Craig (not horrible in a pinch), Woodford Reserve (likewise) Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, etc... but you're not likely to get the Old Forester 1897, 1910 or 1920, Whistle Pig Widow Jane, Angels Envy and the like if, like me, that's your thing.
Absolutely true. When we arrived last week, the only thing we found that we like was Ciroc Peach infused vodka. We really like that so we bought 3. Other than that, not nearly the selection they once had.
