Wife and I went to Temptation resort last summer and had a blast. This summer, for my 40th birthday we are hoping to do three or four nights at Desire. Most people we have talked to said that we would like Riviera Maya better than Pearl. Several other people also told us we should go during August because it is sexy young wild month. It would be slightly more difficult for us to pull off an August trip instead of a July trip. I guess I have two questions: 1) Is 40 too old to be considered sexy young and wild? Like, Would we be out of place? 2) What differentiates sexy young wild month from other months? Is it much better to the point that we should put in a little extra effort to make sure we are there during August? Anyone’s input greatly welcomed! Hoping to book the trip this week!
Hi, January and August I understand normally have lower attendance so they’ve made them specialty months to keep a full house. Any month is good for you guys and yes 40’sh is SYW. It’s how you live and not an age that matters. RM has more rooms so likely more fun and party people. Both resorts are nice. Really depends on what you guys are wanting and the resorts are only 20 mins apart by taxi so seriously consider the foam party at RM on a Friday and go to Pearl on a Saturday for their foam party. Costs a bit to do it but what a great way to checkout both. Just pick one as your primary spot. We split our trips and enjoy each for different reasons. Rest and relaxation for us will find us at Pearl.
Thank you so much! That really is helpful. Any idea what the specialty months entail? Like what makes them different from other months? Are there different rules, or different types of clientele or anything?
We've been to both Desire RM & Desire Pearl during August. They do the SYW thing mostly at Pearl. EDM music, younger crowd (late 20s to mid-30s), and a lot of body-conscious issues showed up. It was not good in our opinion, so we were glad they left after our 2nd day there. Kyle will remember the crowd, it was TTR's post-reno soft opening week. We'll be at DRM this July for 14-17, and we've done that twice, too. DRM, to us, seems a LOT more fun than Pearl. Pearl is a nicer facility... but it is so big compared to how many people it can hold it seems mostly empty all the time. Rooms are fantastic though... but that's not what I'm going to the resort for. Stick witht he plan, don't worry about struggling to get into the August time frame.
Trying to time the right crowd is impossible so just pick dates that work for you and check in to see if there are any takeovers or groups attending that might be something you aren’t interested in. Otherwise any day is a good day for Desire !

Just back from 10 day vacation the first 4 at Desire RM (1st time) and the rest at Temptation (9th time) most likely will not be back to Temptation way too many groups of singles both guys and girls with all the drama and very rude to the resort staff that we all know are awesome. That being said the people and party at RM was fantastic with most participating in the theme nights that were very fun,we are already getting ready to book our return trip and only returned home last night lol. Many people at Temp most have visited many times, were mentioning the same issues and by no means bashing Temp just very concerned how things were going. Not a rant just a review if you will it was a great vacation as always.
