Dirty Vibes Group Event- Impact On Our Trip If We're Not Part Of It?

Had breakfast with one of the organizers just by chance at the table next to us. He indicated they were working on next April complete take over and making it clothing optional. Really doesn’t matter to us.

 

I don't see how that's possible with the local laws.

But I am not one to rain on anyone's parade, so best of luck.

 

Oh bloody hell. I don't understand why the resort would be willing to allow takeovers in the prime months of the year. I would understand if the takeovers were arranged for low-occupancy months, as it helps fill the hotel.

 

Because the sell out and get a premium for the rooms...

 

But in all seriousness I just keep thinking about Mario talking me about the takeover groups in that FB live video and him emphasizing that it wouldn’t negatively effect anyone’s trip.

 

when they try and give you sales pitch just mention it and you should be on your way quickly.

 

I’ve been there for two different takeovers now, I’ll never book during a takeover again...

We have gotten to know the travel agent that does the contracts with TTR. In fact he was invited to the owners (sorry the name is escaping me long night.. not the older gentleman but the son) house the other night. @Steve correct that they do NOT yet have a contract for next year. But they are negotiating one and on the table is a full resort takeover. Nothing was mentioned about changing the concept to us. In fact many of the people in the takeover are here instead of Desire in August because they prefer the TTR concept and don’t want it changed. Premier members could still book the same week and use their nights but would need to pay extra to support the group organized events ($350 was the price this year). Don’t shoot the messenger here. Just sharing what I have learned and of course don’t like it either.

Re some other points above needing clarification...
They had this contact for well over a year.
They had the Desire music fest contract for even longer so the August event is nothing new.
They had/have sky bar events Tuesday night, Wednesday day, Thursday night and Friday day. They said to the resort they are perfectly fine with others being allowed up there outside of the organized party and don’t understand why the resort is not allowing non group people ( i.e. premier) up there. The resort is telling people not part of the event that they can’t go up there until Sunday. Nothing is even planned up there at all for Saturday. Doesn’t really make sense.
Sky bar at night is simply an awesome venue. Paying a little extra booking with the group has been well worth the privledges that have come with it.

 

That is what we were hoping. Just sharing what was shared with us info-wise.
