I noticed in many of the trip reviews people mention the foam party as being the highlight of their trip. We will be first timers to TTR but I've been to some foam parties at other resorts and it wasn't a highlight. I remember my eyes burning and drinking soapy beer. Still fun but I'm curious what makes the current (since the renovation) foam parties special.
For the reasons that you mention, my wife and I also don't find the foam party to be much of a highlight. Elyse wanted a shower and a fresh bathing suit within 10 minutes. I guess people like it because it is something different in the pool, generally everyone is a little more fired/amped up, and I think it's easier to get a little more frisky than normally allowed (under the cover of foam).
Yeah, I broke the cardinal rule...buzz posting! Sorry But the foam is toxic and harsh. Burns the shit out of our eyes and sucks the oxygen out of the air. Hard to breath when under the foam for sure. I almost freskin drowned holding Rayanne up.
Foam does bother eyes and breathing, but is a great smokescreen from security. I wear my sunglasses, seems to help. Foam party was better at the old sports pool.
Personally we find the foam party lame, so we leave the pool. Burns the eyes, can't breath.... then the pool water looks like shit for 2 days. But many people like it so I see why they do it.
