Hello - we’ve heard from several people that The vibe at Desire is now what it was at TTR before. We are looking in to splitting our trip between Desire and TTR sometime in a June. What do you recommend for us to do, bring and prep for in advance of the Desire leg of the trip? We’ve read that bedroom sizes do not differ too much from garden to ocean view? We imagine that theme night outfits are not that much different? Any tips for us to make the best of it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks much, Liz and Rob

Following. We are probably going to be in the same boat at the end of July.

    Hi,
We’ve been to RM 3 times and Pearl a bunch of times usually after the first leg of our trip at Temptation so lots of experience changing gears to relax at Desire and enjoy clothing optional.

You’ll need less clothes !! Haha

RM buildings are predominantly 2 stores walk ups and I recommend superior garden view for a ground floor nice room close to the pool as it’s quite central to everything. We love room #1301.

RM has not really had the decor upgrade that TTR and Pearl have so it’s lacks a bit of the sappy romantic red painted rooms TTR had previously but the rooms are spacious and comfy.

You’ll love the lobby bar. Totally has a kinda Paty’Os feel for it and it’s the hot spot after dinner and after the disco if you aren’t going to the roof top jacuzzi/ hot tub. It’s our late night snack spot after the jacuzzi/hot tub for tacos, pizza and drinks .

Theme night participation is good but there are less than 1/2 the rooms of TTR so plan for less people to be around. Disco is upstairs, inside and hoppin!

Pool entertainment and beach events are good and social without too much silly sexual themes like TTR. The lunch restaurant is open air on 2 sides towards the pool and the pool is surrounded by beds as well as loungers.

Connect with little Danny at the towel station to get pool or beach chairs assigned and he’ll set you up straight away. Recommend you tip him a bit for a great lounge chair or bed selection by the pool or on the beach. He’s awesome and happy to get you what you want if he can.

Pool service by the staff and bar tenders is great and food is awesome.

Gotta dash but I’ll add some more updates later.

    Happy planning !!

Room 1301 is one of our favorite rooms as superior garden room.

Great thanks. We are considering adding some days to the end of some of our upcoming TTR trips.
We have no issues with nakedness or debauchery so that is not the issue.
For first time do you recommend RM or Pearl?
Can you say anything about Pearl and preferred room(s)?
Do you happen to have that map handy too?
I understand the search function but it sounds like you have good experience and advice and have volunteered to share.
    I also enjoy your posts.
Thank you in advance for your help and support...I know it takes up time!

That’s the layout for Pearl and we prefer to stay in Villa 31 -43 and our favoirite rooms include the ones with only a couple steps up or down from the walkway which are 31, 36, and 40... so far.

Pearl is elegance and excellence which inspires all 5 senses for couples romance. Not being sappy but they really figured it out here. With only 78 rooms it’s the least populated of their 3 hotels and that’s a small party and sometimes it doesn’t take off.

Hot tub / Jacuzzi at ground level is so much better than RM but the disco can empty quickly and theme attendance hasn’t been close to RM or TTR.

The 3 hotels area all very different and each should be enjoyed for what special features they have. We go to Pearl to relax before returning home from the TTR party.

Pearl has the most personal space of the 3 hotels and we say everyone should try it for themselves to immerse into couples romance. However it’s not TTR 2.0’or anything like that.

Suggest you start with RM and do a day pass tonPearlnfoe the foam party to check out the hotel and service etc. 20 mins by taxi only andnits honestly a great day. Last trip folks from Pearl doubled up on foamnorties by doing RM’s inn friday and Pearls on Saturday. Had a big influx of RM people at Pearl and it was an awesome day.

Kath likes RM and we went there and to Pearl at the end when TTR was having a Reno but honestly gets a bit teary when we arrive at Pearl because it is just so over the top special for her.

Try ‘em both if you can and expect them to be different... not better, best or worse.

We were huge fans of the old TTR.. we had about 10 trips over 7 years. We debated trying Desire for awhile but decided to give a go and signed up for a week while TTR was closed for the reno. While we did go back to TTR twice since the reno, we prefer Desire 100%. Not saying we'd never go back to TTR but for now, our vacations will be at Desire (booked April 5-17). It's the perfect amount of party and relax. Yes the day time (until 4pm and the hot tub area gets going) is a little quiet but that just makes for nice time to have to relax at the pool, meet new friends without having to scream at them, etc.

This will be our first time at Desire. We just booked 2 nights at RM to test it out, after 5 nights at TTR... We will be at RM April 19th and 20th (Friday and Saturday). Looks like we miss the foam party at TTR, i think? We had a hard time deciding between RM and pearl... How much is a day pass, do you know? and where do they list the foam party nights (are they always the same each week?).

    so very excited!
