Seems pretty clear they try to get people to buy more on special nights but it isn’t required. And outside of special nights they try to get people to buy more when they book the larger tables.

Yes only she and hibachi require reservations but you can make reservations thru your butler for the larger tables at any of the restaurants. And that is where the negotiation seems to come in on buying a bottle. Key word is negotiation. In many cases it isn’t required. And sounds like the same may happen when just showing up and trying to get the big tables.

To put this in perspective though on the majority of nights when going with 2 or 4 or 6 I think it is rare that you will he asked to buy a bottle

It's not fake news at all. We had this happen at both the Italian restaurant and Sea Flirt on more than one occasion, and, as Kyle said, it happened when we were trying to make reservations for a large group (8). It actually didn't bother us much--and I've since thought to myself that it might be nice to know that such an option exists. I could see 3-4 couples each agreeing to buy a bottle of wine in order to land a last-minute reservation at a good time. Just my HO.

Correction to Kyle’s statement: you only need resrvations at Habachi (Sutra) IF you want to sit at the counter and see the chef cook the meal.
All of the tables are open.
Typically wait at the bar a few minutes having a drink before they take you to your table.

Not sure what you are correcting as Hibachi by definition is the table you sit at the counter and watch the chef cook in front of you. If I meant the restaurant I would of said Sutra :) All good.

Next thing ya know, you'll have to buy a bottle of lube to book a couple's massage!

Well that's good news. They must've changed their practices to a more hygienic, 'single use' method rather than reusing their feather-thingy... which of course must've been sanitized between clients lol. When we had our TTR sensuous couples' massage, it was definitely a 3-4" oil-dipped little clump of feathers held together in a wooden knob (like an old style, badger-hair shaving cream brush), that they used to swipe and tickle our naughty bits... yep, we both peeked too... felt too good at the time! It was a VERY memorable and sexy time :)
Actually, it would've been much more fun to find another massage partner couple rather than overpriced spa services.
Apologies... did not intend to change subject of the OP's thread :)

Most I have encountered believe Habachi is Sutra. Was just pointing iut the difference hence the correction.
You are a man of precise wording.
I will be more careful when reading your next post ;)
    No harm, no foul!
