We are right on par with what Scuba Steve tips per day. We also second Scuba Steve's comment that you don't have to tip for great service. I do however highly recommend knowing the poolside bar tenders by name, speaking to them by name and handing them a $20 directly early in the day. This tip covers you all day and 90% of the time I can walk up to the bar with a line of people ahead of me and the bartender knows what I am drinking and will make it for me while he makes the drinks for the line of people ahead of me. Everybody comes from different backgrounds but the $20 a day for this alone is worth it to us. We love it when we can walk away with a drinks faster from the "commoners bar" vs the service some of our member friends receive from the members bar.

Not always true. Generally speaking, yes, but we have witnessed the opposite among some of the bartenders.

So on the $2 US bill thing.
I too used to bring, and still do bring brand new $2 bills.
They are supposed to be lucky and like giving services a wink...similar to leaving a dime on the table at US restaurant.
But at some point, either by post here or in person Steve told me they have trouble exchanging them...something to do with the banks.
So although a nice gesture I am using up my remaining 50 or so slowly over upcoming trips and will no longer dring them, will use two $ 1 bills instead or simply upgrade to a $5 bill

I have posted and been PMed multiple times on tipping.
I am not an authority and others have answered the questions

What I will add is this...although “tipping” is supposed to be included in the daily room price for Premier Members, not sure about non members, we tip anyway, and some say on the heavy side.
The staff can make or break our vacation stay with excellent or subpar service and we appreciate them.
Their daily/hourly pay is not that much so even $5US is much appreciated.
So we are against anyone eho does not tip...something.
It doesn’t matter how much it is ad it is the gesture that counts.

So do what you can afford and are comfortable with and treat ALL staff with dignity and compassion.
Most are there to help us have a great stay/vacation.

Just curious if you had a butler with the room you booked, do you generally tip them? If so, approx how much and do you do it when you first get there or at the end of your trip?

Ya, that is around the same with us.
Spot on the bartender comment, generally have my drink waiting or pouring it when they see me coming to the bar for another. And yes this can also be a curse, have had to tell them to ease up a little more than once..

I tip my butler atleast half up front and promise more if the week goes well.
    And it has so far!
We are not too demanding and have been treated real well.
Typically $10/day plus anything special that makes the Mrs. happy!

Very Useful information... I was wondering about the service overall with tipping.. Me love and I will tip for great service and Hell we just tip in general, especially for hard working people that are accommodating our every need... Not sure I can get $2 bills but I will see what I can do...

They don't actually want $2 bills.

Interestingly, a lot of people seem to agree with you, and say that they are difficult for them to exchange in some places. I may need to rethink that-
