    Hi,

Are there any recommendations for non resort activities close to the resort? Or rainy day activities (other than the obvious!)

I was wondering if there is anything interesting within walking distance, or if there is any interesting shopping close by?

You can walk down the street to the ferry terminal and go to Isla for the day. There really isnt much in walking distance to the resort. There is a small straw market past the church that has multiple little shops. Take the bus to Walmart it is always an adventure and cheap costs a buck each. At the towel hut they offer a variety of tours you can book also. As for it raining It never lasts long anyway.

Are you talking about the UltraMar to the south of Temptations?
I think its just by Grand Oasis Palm??
We were thinking of going to the Isle that way this year, so I just want to be extra sure.

So there is also a Pirate Show Jolly Roger close by, Anyone done that?
What about the Sirenas Raw bar Also just down the block by the pirate show.
Capetian Hook is also in that same space
All of these places are about .5 KM away and you can walk. (10 minute stroll hehe)

There is a mall to the north, its about 2.5 KM away that we were thinking of checking out as well. You could in theory also walk there. (2.5km is about a 30 minute walk one way)

Has anyone done any of these things?

if you exit the resort to the left and go down a mile or 2 on the right hand side is a boat dinner you can take out and have Steak and Lobster (or just one of each) out on a boat ride. they play music, serve drinks and you get to slow dance on top of the boat with your love one. I think it was like $100-120 per couple. We love it. I forget the name of it.

If you exit the resort and turn left, it's a nice short walk to a bridge. It overlooks the bay (lagoon? IDK, it's a nice stretch of water) Sometimes we've seen boats passing by. Around that same area, there is an observation tower. It's a safe walk and there are nice trees, greenery along the way. The trees that line the street are actually pretty. We've also seen birds and the occasional iguana along the way.

You can also take the bus. The stop is right outside the resort, and the fare is $1 US per person. It's a fun ride in itself. The Temptation bellhop by the door can probably give you pointers on where to go. There is a nice shopping plaza, La Isla, about 15-20 min away by bus.
