Hello to all my TTR family. Need alittle advice. Me & my exgirlfriend brought a membership with Temptations in 2009. We have since parted ways, but both our names are on the membership. I was just trying to sell it so we both can move on, but she refuses to sign any papers she said dealing with the membership, but she also said that she is not going to use it either. So I'm kind of wondering Y she is doing this. I just wanted to get rid of the membership so I'm not holding on to anything we had together. Wondering what I should do.
Double check that you are both co-owners (and not one owner, one beneficiary) and who is the primary contact. I'm guessing you've done this if you've tried to sign papers already. If you want to sell it or split it, talk to Premier and a lawyer. I'm not sure how successfully you can sell it, seeing as many people have been trying to sell, but some of the older contracts have really good benefits compared to the newer ones so double check those perks too. If you want to continue using it though, there's nothing stopping you from using the entire membership (eg. all the nights, Referrals, perks, weeks etc) as an owner. The only thing you would possibly need her to sign off on is if you intended to upgrade your joint membership or add a beneficiary (which sounds unlikely). If you decide to upgrade to a solo contract at your next visit, Premier will consider your existing contract and would give you more nights and benefits for an upgrade cost (not a new contract cost). I went through this with my ex, though luckily we are still friends and continue to share the contract, we have a separate legal written agreement on how it is split.
You can buy her out, meaning purchase it from her. You need a notarized bill of sale that you provide to Premier. I assume it has to be atleast $1. Then pay the $153 transfer fee to Premier to reassign the contract only to you. Basicaaly scratch the original names off and replace with new owner(s)...you. Memberships typically can only be sold once.
If she "won't sign anything," I think you're stuck. Get a new chick and take the new chick to TTR a LOT and have a bunch of fun with the membership might be the best way to handle the situation. Probably the most fun way.
I did Len but was just pointing out that if she will sign a bill of sale and have it notarized then they both can win and move on. Basically a path foreard if some common sense is used. Now if Craig G doesnt want to keep it than need to find buyers. It is a shame to not use the membership. I believe he can add beneficiaries or assign Referrals on his own without her signature. If that is the case he might be able to recoup his investment. Hell my wife takes care of evertyhing and contract is in both our names.
@FakeNewsTeam - it just seems pointless to make a suggestion about her signing something when he clearly stated she would not sign anything. In fact the whole point of his post was that he wanted some advice about what else he could do in light of the fact she wouldn’t sign anything. If by “assign Referrals” you mean make a reservation for someone to use one of their Referrals, he can do that without her. I doubt he can add beneficiaries without her consent, but I am out of town and can’t check my contract to confirm that. @Elle - even if he wants to upgrade and turn it into a solo contract, he will need her signature. I had to get my exes signature when I upgraded and changed to a solo contract this past June.
My Two Cents (and I am not a lawyer)....it’s still Mexico and lots of things happen lots of ways in Mexico if you talk ($$) to he right person.
Ha right. And send the old chick pictures of that fun until she agrees to sign the damn sales contract ha. That may force action
