We bought stuff from both of the pharmacies across the street and while both had better prices than the airport or Isla Mujeres, I'm certain they were more expensive than Wal-Mart or even online. It is very convenient to be able to run across for anti-nausea meds or 800mg Ibuprofen, however, so when you really need something it's nice to have those so close by. We'll be doing the Wal-Mart stop next year, for sure.

The pharmacies across the street are all about convenience. The prices aren't bad, but I'm sure you could do a little better out of the Hotel zone. However, that means much more of a trip into town where the locals shop, or perhaps Walmart. Saving a couple bucks isn't worth the lost sexy pool time to us, and Walmart is the last place we want to be during our time away.

Absolutely agree. I hate shopping at Walmart when I'm home, so have zero Desire to visit one on vacation.

Pharmacy prices seem to be"flexible". One day I ran over for a pack of smokes dressed in dinner attire (dress shoes, slacks, nice button shirt), the following day I ran over for a pack in swim trunks and a t-shirt. Price was higher when I looked more like a tourist. I questioned the price difference, and low and behold, the price dropped. No big deal, but found it amusing. I should probably work on my Spanish a little more, who knows how many pesos I could save then. :)

There is another one that is a little closer to Cancun with better reviews. I believe they have a doctor on staff as well. I did a little research myself and that's what I came up with

This comes up a lot and they are always described as the little Pharmacy across the street, the one to the left, down the road, over the river and threw the woods. I was just wondering if someone actual know the name, address, hours as well as services offered? My though is as a public service (make that a Cancun Care Service) to make it easier to find post it as its own thread. As its own thread it may be easier to find and people wont have to dig so much allowing them more time for witty talk and risqué conversation . Maybe its even worthy of Steve making it a sticky.

The place across the street is Farmacias del Ahorro, Calle Galeon Local 1 Módulo 1, Kukulcan Boulevard, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R., Mexico. It’s listed as open 24 hours.

Although after hours the doors are locked. There is a little window in the door and a bell for service. You can talk to the clerk and get what you need. Only the clerk and security guard are inside.

I agree that for me it’s all about the convenience of it being just across the street, not necessarily the best price.

We have use them a few times. They take usd but will only give u peso change. They also will give a lessor exchange rate than what is currently being offered. They did not carry B C powders so make sure u bring your own

I had terrible throat swelling. Alcohol made it worse and was litterally ruining my trip. Went over there and told the lady my problems and she gave me some sort of strong throat meds.

All i can say is it just helped my vacation

I had to go there because my wife and I caught a travel flu when we got to TTR and after 2 days we couldn't make it to the pool so I went to get meds. I found them really helpful and not too expensive. The main pharmacist speaks English. The first thing he tried to do was sell me Viagra, but I think he does that for every guy that walks in with a Temptation wristband. Once I coughed while taking me to Viagra he knew instantly and helped me get stuff to get my wife and I back on our feet for the Party.

Remember my earlier post about looking on the side of the box. There is a always a price embossed that is a maximum price that particular medication can be sold for. If they try and charge you more (and they often will) dispute it and point to the price.

Those prices are on each medication and will be the same wherever for that same product. You've got more chance of places like Walmart charging you correctly, but then you've got the time and expense of getting there and back.

Just don't let them rip you off, look for the price!

Would be nice but if I added every suggestion as a sticky we'd have to go to page two before we saw any new threads. Maybe I should make a webpage on it, but does anyone even read those? :)
