We are newbies going April 14-24, looking to chat with some people before hand that are going as well.
Hi and welcome we're sure you'll get to chat to people there all kinda friendly lol when Steve posts the official roll-call for April you'll be able to find and chat to the people that will be there around the same time!
I am actually exicited about the early April takeover now. We have chatted with some people from the group and met others when we were at Desire Music Fest for their takeover. So far everyone very nice and open. I have encouraged people to come here to learn more about the resort but they also have a takeover group website thing going on. But why I am excited... it is clearly a group that wants to party hard and getting a big group up in the sky bar is something I have always wanted since it is such a great space. And they have similar music tastes to me which as many know is a sensitive subject with me re the house dj at Bash. So I am finding the positives in the takeover and trying my best to overlook the negatives (I am paying more than usual and the whole exclusivity aspect which tends to be part of a takeover but not what TTR is about)
Hi can you please go a little more in-depth as to the music taste as we also aint big fans of the house DJ at Bash. Thanks
Hmmm. Wish i could find the thread but the search function failed me. So I think music at Bash joined the heated topic list of saving chairs, single guys, cameras and security a few months back. The crux of the debate was/is .... - one side believes the music at Bash is repetitive and/or the dj doesn't do a good job of enhancing the party - the other side believes the dj is doing the best he can and/or the music is good enough for the party We side with the former... usually tolerating the repetition of pitbull, despecito, etc for a night and then wishing for music we prefer (some call it EDM... more specifically Deep House, Club, Dance) and eventually reaching the point of annoyance just wanting some sort of variety even if it wasn't our type of music. Note this is just our opinion. We totally respect that some like it exactly the way it is now. So this takeover group used to have an EDM Music Festival at Desire Pearl every August. And we went due to the type of music and loved it. Many different dj's playing variety within the party, club, edm genres. At TTR they have changed it up a little and now call it the Dirty Vibes takeover where they bring in their own Djs again but I assume they intentionally dont call it EDM anymore as rightfully so they play a variety of music. Their description from their website... A electric lifestyle event with guest dj's.
Be sure to tell us how it was as I think we overlap only a day or so. When @Warren&Vicky asked you to ‘splain the music thing I was like OMG not that again But your response post was spot on, well except for option 3 which are those that think all the music sucks or option 4 which get the DJ to play their music choices...atleast for some of the night. (Hint: Ladies, DJs like titties too and can go a long way for rhem to q up anything from their laptop or internet). Thanks for ‘splain’ the new EDM lingo and edumacating the rest of us ignorant types! And info about this takeover group too
