No we have not been since. Honestly Hedo and Jamaica in general has fallen off our "love list". We have heard conflicting reports about the makeover since Harry took over. Some say it is fab and some say the opposite. The general feeling we get is that H2 is more Clicky than ever. It seems to be overpriced these days. And I am not a big fan of Harry. For us DRM is the way better C/O option.
Ah yes, we noticed the price increases between the first year we went, 2014, and now to be quite significant. It's still less expensive than Desire though. TTR is very nicely priced so fingers crossed that we love it and want to go back. I do like the beautiful beach, the drinkable tap water and relaxed attitude about 420 in Jamaica a lot.
Yes I guess DRM is expensive. We are members so we get a break on the rack rate at Desire And you are right Negril has an amazing beach. And the 420 is all-world awesome. Negril was our favourite beach in the world. We have been to dozens and dozens. That is until we went to Tulum. That is now our #1.
I've been to Tulum and I agree, it's the prettiest beach! Now if only there was a sexy fun resort there! Hidden Beach, which is close and nude but not sexy has a terrible beach!
Agreed about Hidden Beach. Really kinda boring and not inviting. Hopefully one day, Original Resorts develops a property in Tulum.
You should look a little further out- lol Here's our pick for the most attractive nude beach in the Caribbean - Eden Beach in Antigua
Desire prices also increased a lot.... comparing to last year/2 years ago it increased by 25-30%. Hedo and TTR are much cheaper.
From our experience, the most attractive nude beach in Caribbean - Cayo Largo in Cuba (10 km or so white sand)
We've been coming to TTR for 4 years now, twice a year. We went to Hedo for about 5 hours while we were on the Bliss Cruise last month. We went with the mindset that if we loved it, we would adjust our Caribbean time and go there once a year, and same with TTR. We're not going there again. Despite the positives: clothing optional, great beach, good food, awesome party, high energy entertainment staff; the negatives stopped us in our tracks: The buildings and pools pseemed to us to be in bad need of repairs (much more than TTR ever was), bar staff struggled to keep up, lots of people older than our age bracket, much longer travel days from Utah, more money per night than TTR. I can understand why people enjoy it there, and had we gone there before we knew TTR, we may well have gone back. Bottom line: you're paying Desire prices for pre-TTR facilities, so that you can run around naked and party like we do in Cancun.
