I know this is an older thread but one of those rubber shower drain covers that are used when the normal drain plug is not working would keep that smell in the pipe. Your neighbor may get more of it but your room would be fine. They are large enough and less than $5.00
We found the clothes dryer!!!! Maybe not for dripping wet bathing suits, but if you let them drain overnight in the shower on suction cup hooks and in the morning, before going to breakfast, just hang them in the cupboard over the fridge, they will be dry and toasty by the time you get back! All our damp clothes, we put in there and within a couple hours were nice, dry and toasty warm. Even wet money doesn't take more than an hour to be ready to put back in your pocket. Way better than waiting two days for stuff to dry on the balcony.
It was built to dissipate heat, so just put 2 and 2 together and you got a dryer!! And in the room we had, it was pretty effective.
I took advice from here and brought one if those clear plastic pocket hanging storage things. WOW. Everyone should get one of these, it was so handy! Hung it from a hook in the bathroom. Was able to keep all make up, hair products, theme accessories, sunscreen and other pharmaceuticals/drugs and other little fiddly things we brought in one place. Great organisation and saved many an argument I've had in previous years of "where's such-and-such" because everything was right there in sight.
Instead of suction cups I was thinking of bringing the 3M hooks. They stay on better and come off easy.
I saw one tip on bringing a fan to get the moisture out of the air. I too cant stand slipping under damp feeling sheets. I did find the blanket they provide doesn't feel wet at all. I will be asking for an extra blanket so I can use one to lay on and one to cover with. Any other hacks to combat this issue?
