I have been checking rates for 2 months and the prices today are some of the highest I have seen both on their web site and regular travel web sites. Just a little disappointed.
Unless I am crazy (a real possibility - LOL) the sale does not look like much of a sale for those who plan to use a referral. For example, on Tuesday the rack rate for garden view rooms in mid-July was 330 per night, making the referal rate 248. The sale price is 281. Similar results for ocean, jaccuzi and seduction beachfront. So, it seems to me that those going on referral should not book until after the sale. For those not planning to use a referral, the sale is a good deal (not taking into account rates on 3rd party sites). This is especially true if you plan on booking tower rooms (Referrals can't book tower rooms and get the 25% off discount). The sale rates are 75 to 100 lower per night for tower rooms then they were on Tuesday in mid July.
Yeah I'm disappointed too. Last year the Cyber Sale had rooms book for 3 nights pay for 2 , it was a great deal. Was hoping for similar this year (I had no advance Intel about the prices). All I'd say (again) is look around, compare with other sites, if you see a better deal then book it. Book what works for you
The sale is very meh this year.. Same for Desire.. We actually booked an extra trip last year because we got such a good deal. Not bothering this year
Just compared Resort price to Expedia. It was cheaper for expedia versus hotel. Not sure this is a sale. Supply versus demand. No need to provide a high discount if it is booking
using the link in Steve's signature for Compare TTR Hotel Rates beats the Temptation deal by a lot. For 1 week over Halloween its 168 a night for garden view as a single. 206 for Plush Jacuzzi room. On The TTR website its 210 for single garden and 243 for plush jacuzzi room.
Just FYI for those who are shopping. We were holding out for the sale and were extremely disappointed. I was watching prices and just yesterday the room and dates we wanted were 3541.92 for our dates and all the days were 590.92. Suddenly 1 minute after midnight the total trip went up too 6028.80 and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday are black out dates. But my bitching isn't the reason for this post. The information I wanted to relay is that when I searched for a better price I found that sometime there is 2 listing for Temptations on the same site. I found them to be Temptations and one has something to do with the Tower, in the case of Expedia it was the Tower by Temptation. The price listed as regular Temptation was significantly cheaper. These searches were done in the time it takes to open a new window so I don't think it was because of any daily price update. Hope this helps someone with there booking. Sorry Steve I was hoping to give you credit on the sale but TTR prices are out of whack for the days we can go, defiantly will be on the boob cruise though.
Bummed out by crazy price increase this year at Desire, tried Temptations to find out dates we wanted are blacked out! But likewise an Expedia search showed rooms available at significantly less than Cyber sale prices. Can this be legit? Seems really weird.
