To the Octoberbreasters-- We arrive on Friday. I propose the Octoberbreasters takeover the rooftop on Sunday, Oct 7th at 1pm(ish). Perhaps for a group pic like this one

 

Most of us will be gone home and not all people can go to the roof for free.

@Nikki&Ira Hey Nikki. Not on facebook but hearing from friends that this year was a little rough due to a resort takeover. Is that true? Will you be doing a trip report so we can understand what happened?

 

Hey! Probably not because TBH I just had a death in the family yesterday but I will copy and paste something that I posted on Facebook. The trip was amazing and epic and the last two days did not take away from the overall awesomeness of this group.

....in 8 trips I have never seen anything like this-it was a complete take over where IMO the resort was simply interested in the money they were receiving from mochafest and it felt like they had no regard for regular customers. I have been there that week for four years... I won’t go back that week simply on how the resort handled situations. I will be very cautious about booking during any organized takeover if this is going to be the new business model for the resort.

The guys using a pool bar seat as a frisbee should’ve been spoken to immediately by security. A pool bar seat landed at the feet of a security guard and nothing was said... It was extremely dangerous and a few people were hit.

I am NOT ok with seeing 20 or 30 cameras blatantly videoing the sexy pool. I left the pool because I am not willing to lose my job because someone wants to take a video. Please know that I am not talking about discrete selfies I am talking about scanning the crowd with phones. I told so many people to put their cameras away and reported so many others to security I eventually gave up.... at least 10 times before I stopped.

I loved the change in music although the DJ himself was annoying and he really liked the sound of his own voice .... Music is super subjective though.

My issue was very simply I was not able to feel comfortable in this sexy pool because of the number of cameras. A dozen friends and I went up to the sky bar and then we were kicked out of Skybar to prepare for the private party as well.... not really a member benefit if you are kicked out to prepare for a purchased private party.

There were reports of menus being thrown in the pool and shots being ordered and dozens of shot glasses just being left to sink in the pool. One guy was tired of waiting for his drink so he decided to serve himself and ended up falling on his head over the pool bar.

This particular group is booked for October 3-8, 2019 and we have already booked to go during HnH. We won’t be back for Octoberbreast.

I don’t think it was specifically mochafest I think it was a combination of lots of things...A bunch of people that had never been to the resort before, security being overwhelmed by a massive influx of people, minimal security for the first afternoon although I will say on the second day there was a lot more security.

Awww. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear. We liked the week AFTER halloween last year. Cant escape on Halloween due to the kiddos. Was a partial takeover actually but really fun nice people.

 

We have quite a few people that have decided to switch the dates with us and we are currently booked October 25 to November 3 ... maybe a day or two early just depending on flights etc.

 

Nikki sorry about the death in your family and those last couple of days with the takeover over group.
Question is there a list posted anywhere of these type of groups and the dates they would be at Temptation?
