I was just reading on resorts in Cancun. This is our first time going and wanted to make sure TTR was safe :)

TTR isn't like any other Cancun resort. You'll be safer there than at home. All of the staff are awesome, including housekeeping.

Had the same problem with the housekeeping staff not taking the tip. Started putting it under the card that has the person name who is cleaning the room.

We just give it to them in person so there's no questions.

A Hitachi Magic Wand won't fit in the safe but have no fear, it will be just fine.

You name it, I left it out (10+ pairs of high-end sunglasses, expensive watches, phones, stupid hats, other peoples clothes, ipods, portable speakers). In 6-7 trip nothing was ever taken. (though I have lost plenty of things on my own).

I have even left money just laying around that I wanted them to take, but they didn't. The next day had to leave a note.

If you leave your door unlocked/open, you are more likely to have a random wanderer come into your room and steal your stuff. Just be smart and you will be fine :)
