My wife and I (both 35years old) just returned from our first Temptation (and first Cancun) trip, and we had an amazing time. We are already trying to figure out how we can get back soon, or at least re-create some of the fun closer to home until we can get back to Cancun. We went celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary, and we both agree we couldn't have chosen a better spot for what we wanted. I'm writing this review to try to fill in some of the information I felt I was lacking when I planned this trip. Feel free to ask questions. GENERAL THOUGHTS: While I really appreciated all the reviews on this forum, I didn't see much of what people complained about. I thought the facilities were maintained excellently, the service was all-around fantastic, and the people were great. The rooms are a little too "ultra-sleek" and could use a few hooks or shelves, but that was really our only complaint. SPECIFICS: referral/SALES PITCH: We went on a referral to save money. The Referrals process gets a bit of a bad rap on this site, but we will definitely do it again. It saved us 25% on the rooms, plus gave us access to the members areas including the sky bar, member lounge, member pool area and bar, and access to higher-tier alcohol, and we got a butler. The main member perk we used was the member pool area (just a section on the sexy pool, with nicer beds and shade); its a little better shaded and has has a little less traffic so you don't feel like you need to keep an eye on your stuff as much; it also has the member bar right there, so if line is long in the swim-up bar you can get a drink right away. Our butler was Laura, and she was fantastic. We didn't have much need for her, but she actively sought us out multiple times to see if we needed anything, reservations made, late checkout, etc. She also arranged a cool room decoration on our anniversary. The sales pitch took longer than expected (2 hours) but was more comfortable and less pushy than expected. They started with a very friendly girl taking us on the tour and going over the benefits/costs of membership. We were clear that we weren't buying (although we were tempted at times). They kept knocking the price down and down, but when we said our final "no", she told us OK, let me just bring our manager over to confirm we have done what we need. Then, "greasy Pepe" came over to try some high-speed, high-pressure sales tactics; this part was annoying, but when we firmly said no thank you, he backed down and let us go. Overall, it wasn't that bad, and worth the discounts and benefits for two hours of our time. ROOMS: We had a garden view room, and by garden view, they mean straight onto a white wall and some construction, so view sucked, but otherwise room was good. It was a little small. Everything is so sleek and ultra-modern, they have left out several small comforts (like towel hooks, hand towel racks, shelves, etc), so I appreciated the recommendation others made to bring suction cup hooks. But the rooms were very clean, well maintained, and no evidence of leaking water or water damage as had been mentioned in other reviews. We did a room crawl and saw some Oceanview, Bash Tower, and Jacuzzi rooms, all of which are significantly bigger and nicer than ours was, but for the cost I'd probably still opt for the cheaper rooms, since the only times we were in the room was to sleep or have sex. FOOD: We really enjoyed it. By far the best "all-inclusive" food we've had. It's no 5-star restaurant, but who comes to an all-inclusive restaurant expecting that? We never had a meal we didn't like. Sea flirt was our favorite for breakfast, Amores favorite for lunch, and all restaurants were good for dinner. My favorite was Romanza (Italian), and wife's favorite was Sutra (Asian). The "She" restaurant does a great romantic 7-course meal with performance; the experience is excellent, while the food was good but not amazing. POOLS: We spent 90% of our time at the Sexy pool, a huge pool with tons of beds and lounge areas and a swim up and walk up bar. There is always loud music playing (but not uncomfortably loud) and multiple times throughout the day they have games or activities going on. We had wondered if we'd want to spend more time in the quiet pool, but we just loved getting to know people and watching people and activities, so we never even got in the quiet pool. All pools are topless optional, and at least this week I think probably 75% of women were topless. My wife was questioning how she'd feel about it before we arrived, but she wore her top for a grand total of 10 seconds when we first got there, so needless to say we loved the topless aspect. By the end of the week, my wife was walking up to women, touching, and discussing/comparing nipple piercings (wife's are pierced too), so the resort has a way of loosening people up. Sky bar pool was beautiful, and we spent one afternoon up there. It is much more quiet, but the view is amazing. I wish it was open later, though I imagine there is a fair amount of liability if someone were to get drunk and try something stupid up there. Food up there is also fantastic. Quiet pool is very pretty, but like I said above, we never got in. No sexual activity is allowed in public areas, though we certainly saw (and experienced) some discrete underwater play. We only saw one swinger foursome having actual intercourse (in the water at sky bar, so maybe security didn't see?), but we did see several obvious underwater hand jobs, but nothing offensive or bothersome. GYM: It looked pretty good as far as hotel gym goes. We planned on going every day, but after staying up late every night dancing, we decided we already had a workout and didn't ever use the gym. BASH: The nightly shows and dance/theme nights are a lot of fun. The shows are very well done; our favorite was the incredible pole dancer on white night. We participated in all of the theme nights, which we loved and would highly recommend. I'd say 75-80% of people dressed up in some way. The dance scene is hit-or-miss; neon, angel-demon, and white night were probably most active. The DJ literally plays the exact same songs every night, so there is definitely room for improvement there, but we had a great time regardless. SPA (Steve, if this gets to explicit, let me know, but I wanted to give people an idea of what to expect since I couldn't find a lot of information): We opted for the sensual couples massage. My initial thoughts before going were, "why do that when you can meet a couple and do the same together for free?" While that is still true, we are not in the swinger lifestyle at all, and we weren't sure we want to go that far with someone else, so we decided to try the massage for a new sexy experience and push our boundaries a bit. We (especially my wife) loved it. It is NOT a happy ending massage, though it is definitely more sexual than any other massage I've had. In brief, we went into the massage room together in robes. The therapists are wearing normal spa clothing, though with little eye covering masks. They cover our eyes with blind folds (these stay on the rest of the massage), sensually take our robes off, and help us onto the massage beds. They start on your back; this is a soft caressing massage, not deep tissue. They would also brush across your...ahem... nether regions or run feather over it, but not actually touch with their hands. After a while, she turned me over and started working on my front, again very sensually rubbing face, chest, legs, inner thighs. She would also brush against penis and genitals or tease with a feather, but never do more than that. One of the sexiest parts was when she would grab my hair and breath into my ear, while rubbing my chest with her other hand. After I was clearly excited, they surprised me by leading my wife over to me and had her start using her hand/mouth on me while the therapists rubbed against me and her and kind of guided us (since we were both blindfolded still). My wife loved this part. After a while, they lay her back down, and led me over to play with her, which was really sexy to be touching and rubbing her while other women did too. Eventually, they helped position me on top of her and continued rubbing us while we had fun for a few minutes before they excused themselves and left us to our own devices. There is also a hot-tub, two glasses of wine, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a shower for us to enjoy for a while afterward. Overall would definitely consider again, though it is very expensive. I can also see a couple with a more adventuresome (swinger) lifestyle being bored by it, but for our tastes it was amazing. Boobs Cruise: We went on Aug 20. This was by far the craziest thing I have ever done. Chino and Sarah-69 were amazing and really kept the party and fun going. The other staff worked hard to keep our drinks full constantly, and I never saw more than a couple of inches of empty space in my cup. It actually could be a bit problematic because you have no idea how much you've drunk until you are having trouble standing up. The front half of the boat is the wild side, the back is for relaxing. I think my wife and I were the only ones who spent any time in back because we both had a bit too much to drink and needed to rest for a bit to regain our sea-legs (we got playfully yelled at for lying down in front by Sarah-69, which will give us away if any of our friends read this). Things can get pretty raunchy on the front half of the boat, and we may or may not have seen: oral sex, vaginal sex, double blowjobs, Donald Trump getting a golden shower, a lot of nude dancing, licking whipped cream of bodies. There were 4 people (all of the more "well-aged" couples) who got nude from the start (shout out to Cowboy from Alabama and Donald Trump from London), but by the end of the trip the majority was nude; we only got briefly nude for skinny dipping (since we are still a bit prudish). We only had one single guy on (the creeper) so he took a lot of abuse but he was really cool and I think he had a good time. Overall, I recommend going on the Boobs Cruise, as long as you are not bothered by nudity and explicit sexual activity, and you should realize it is a full day of non-stop partying...this is not a relaxing catamaran ride. SUMMARY/RECOMMENDATIONS/COMPLAINTS: Overall, we loved it, and will go back. -Go on a referral basis (you can sometimes request one from the front of this page, or ask around on the facebook/reddit groups); it will save a lot of money and give you some nice perks. -Go on the Boobs Cruise (with the above-mentioned caveats) -Do the theme nights -I wish they had a 24-hour pool or hot tub, or fire pit, or other more relaxed evening hangout. Sometimes BASH gets a bit much, and we wanted to just hang out with other friends we had met. There is no good place for that at night, unless you want to invite people to your room, which has too much of a sexual connotation for what we were looking for. -The BASH DJs need some more variety in their music. -The rooms need more hooks/shelves.
Great review very much like our first review, thanks for taking the time to post. Only thoughts would be is I think you need is to get @Steve to put a EX in between the Curious and Prudes in your screen name, sounds like your hooked like the rest of us. T
That was a really good first timer TR, y'all. It almost exactly matched, except for the contrast pre-reno/post-reno at TTR from Stacia & I's first trip, except we didn't know anything about CCC or a Boobs Cruise back in the day... as the BC didn't exist yet.
Great review. We're going for our 4th trip in 6 weeks and have been trying to decide if we want to do the couples massage. We may just go for it.
Thanks. It was worth it for us, especially since my wife starts breathing heavy whenever she talks about it.
Haha. Agreed, but relative to some of the BC hijinx we witnessed, we remain and will continue to remain prudes.
