We (married couple upper 30s) are planning to visit Temptations October 2-5. We will be in Cancun longer, but this is something totally new to us. We've talked about it sounding fun several times, and finally decided to do it for a few days the first time and go from there. Probably going to regret not staying longer, but oh well. Hopefully we can make many more trips!

Anyway, we have a couple of questions. And I'm sure I'll have more later as we get closer. But I do want to say from the outset that I really appreciate the people on this board who provide a lot of valuable info. Your insight led us to book a massage already for when we will be there!

The first question is specific to t he resort and the theme nights. How do those start out in terms of dress? Like do people show up in very provocative clothing to begin the night? Or do they come a little more fully clothed and then start wearing a little less as the evening goes on? We will be there for a lingerie night, for example. So we are just wondering if we come down in virtually nothing, or if we have a little cover and then as the party gets started take that off to be more revealing. We'd like to hear how that works practically.

The second question is more related to the "lifestyle." This is something we've talked about before, and interests us, but we've never participated. We do not feel comfortable joining any near our home due to the somewhat public nature of our jobs. I don't know what, if anything, we will do at Temptation. We've discussed possibilities, but we are kind of leaving it open to see where things go and just agreed to communicate about it in real time. We have a wonderful relationship and we communicate well with one another, so we don't think that will be a problem. Again, though, practically speaking, how are people there with "newbies" or people who are curious? I'm sure some of that is a case by case basis. But any pro tips navigating that scene would be appreciated.

Again, thank you all for your kindness in providing valuable info on this board. We look forward to our visit.

every body just generally does what they are comfortable with ..some nights its all pasties and panties or full costume . every one is friendly and believe it or not not every one there are swingers some people just like the party vibe and being kinda naked . do what you are comfortable with and what works for you as long as you are ok every one will be ok to . No one is pushy ..generally people will flirt and if they get a vibe they flirt and you all just take it from there either just flirt and dance ..or do something more

Where what you want. If you are more comfortable wearing more and taking clothes off as you go that's fine...though seems like you'd just lose those articles. I promise whatever you wear someone will be in someone wearing the same or more risque, revealing, extreme, etc.

O/P's 2 questions answered quick and easy, witht he same answer.

It's your vacation, so you do what makes You feel good, have fun, and enjoy each other and the moment.

That being said, some girls, like Stacia, might do a wardrobe change mid-way through the night, going from a simple dress for dinner, then to a slinky short nightgown over panties, then end up the night in something really tiny or scandalous, depending on if she's feeling it that night. If she's liking it, she'll do it, sometimes sooner.

For the second question, nobody will make y7ou do anything you don't want to do... just talk it through first is the advice we've always heard! We don't do that but lots of our friends do, and they're great, so more power to 'em.

Since we're on the topic of theme nights and I don't want to clutter the forum with another post, do you HAVE to dress up for the theme night or can you just show up dressed normally and decide from there if you want to go change?

    Thanks!

You don't have to participate...but what's the fun in that??? There will be 30-50% of people don't do anything on some theme nights. Other theme nights like white night it's more like 5-10% don't participate. We were late dinner eaters...so we'd go to dinner in our dress clothes. By the time we were done the show is going so we'd go watch that then go change for the night.

I'd guess by 1130-12 most everyone who isn't participating and is just there to watch goes to bed and the real party starts.

Cool, that answers it! We'll be participating in someof the theme nights, just not all of them.
    Thanks!

As Temptation is not a "Lifestyle resort" it is a good place to start  You can always find people that are swingers but they are pretty much always very easy going and don't pressure anyone. Then there are the "swayers" people like you, not necessarily going to swing, BUT if the right circumstance came along who knows ;) then you've got your people that just like to party like they are 25 again :marshe: Go, plan on having a great time and who knows what may happen. It will still be a great time with great people!!!

Lot of good answers. Agree with this one a lot.

I think a lot of people new to this world understandably assume either you are a swinger or you are not. The beauty about Temptation is there is quite a great mix all over the board. I like to say (and this is obviously a generalization as each week this can change based on the crowd) 1/3rd of the resort is there to simply party, 1/3rd the swayer category mentioned above where they are there to party but if something (and there are different levels of ‘something’ depending on the couple...girl/girl or soft or full) feels right then why not and finally a 1/3rd lifestyle which also have their different interests / limits within the swinger categorization.

The beauty is at a place like TTR you can figure out what is right for you as you go. Communication between the two of you, like you mention, is the key. At TTR you can take baby steps (most would recommend) or go all in. It is very much a live and let live type of place. Not much pressure. Do what you as a couple want to do. Plenty of opportunity to partake or plenty of opportunity to step back if you so choose.

The way you describe yourself reminds me of our first trip 8 years ago. What we quickly learned was TTR is the place to come out of your shell and socialize. Introduce yourself to people you normally may just notice and would normally never engage. People are friendly and interesting and nothing is ever assumed just by having a conversation. Wear clothes you normally would not at home. Test your limits and you will start to come out of that shell and feel free. Most importantly just have fun. If you have fun people will want to engage you. If you hang in the corner and watch then you may seem less approachable.

For us that first trip we partyied hard, socialized, made some connections and took that first baby step. Awesome memories. End result is I think ttr is the perfect place based on how you describe yourself to explore your interests.
